I hate achievements like that where it is tied to an entire playthrough. Makes the game much less enjoyable having to worry about stupid crap like that

More than one play through for completion, but the list looks good. Deus Ex came to mind as I was reading through.

So a game where the main selling point is that you can "take any approach you want" to playing the game, but anything but the most stealthy approach will deprive you of the bulk of the achievement points. Annoying.

Definitely Deus Ex inspired. Gonna do one playthrough how I want, and grab the collectibles. Next one will be for Ghost, Shadow, and Mostly Flesh and Steel

I think the list is excellant. I was worried about collectables but now im not. Im sure there is a method for going through the game without killing anybody. I love the achievement that is tied to it, it'll be so sweet when I get it done knowing that most of the rest of you cant/wont.

Also the site's scanners seem to be fixed as I've been scanned atleast twice in the last 2 days.thank x360a for all the hard work.

Looks like at least 3 playthroughs to me one normal for yourself where you get achievements for playing the game and killing people, a 2nd for playing all the missions stealthily killing only important targets and a 3rd for playing the whole game without killing anyone at all. Man, I hop this game lives up to it's potential to warrant that much play time.

Hopefully the game is fun enough to warrant the 3 trips to get the achievements it is a mostly a silly list since the hype is play as you want but the majority of the GS is from playing stealth *golf clap*

As mentioned, the list is very much like Deus: Ex, minus the need for smart saves. Overall I think it looks great. Even though it may suggest more than 1 playthrough, I think the game will be enjoyable enough to make it worth it anyway.

Shitty list. Like the one in Deus Ex: HR, which I never played because of the achievements. I hate when the developers force me to play in a way I don't want to.

@17 Kind of same here. If a game boasts a stealth aspect to it I always spend at least one play through refusing to progress unless I deal with every obstacle with flawless stealth. Glad to see other gamers enjoy a challenge. Since when did the word Achievement not mean accomplishing a challenge lol.

I agree with most people, especially #20. Deus Ex had a really shitty achievement list. It was either pick nightmare, don't kill anyone, don't be detected by anyone in the same painful playthrough or have fun.

Yeah I chose fun. Fuck stealth. And fuck stealth achievements.

People complaining about this are pathetic. Do you really want to go through a game getting all the achievements easily in one go? The way people think of achievements is fucking retarded. This is a really good list; better than most.

@25: Couldn't agree more. Arkane made this game for multiple, small-medium playthroughs. The average time is 14-18 hours first time around. 12 if you're speeding and 20-26 if you're taking your time. There's a Mission tab that lets you replay missions also as if Dishonored were like an album. Play your favorite moments. Besides all that, the last video released was "The Art of Stealth," and one of their major influences were the Thief games. Anyone with a brain should know what he or she is getting into.

I must admit i like the look of the achievement pics, its been awhile i seen some realy good looking onces. The new style these days for achievement pics where the simplified onces we soon for awhile. The list def not suitable for everyone, and by that i mean for those that want get everything in one playthru and get some easy achievements. But i think this game should be worth playing a few times.

People who are complaining need to stop blaming the game because you are an achievement whore. Achievements are mean't to award people who do certain tasks, not for people who stare at the list before they start to play and then purposely go for them.

Besides if you don't want to play the game stealthy then don't. Like I said, it's not the games fault that you want to be time efficient and get all your achievements as fast as possible.

Anyways I think the list looks amazing. Can't wait to play it. I'm glad they made some time consuming ones so they game will last me longer.

@32 Well said, it's amazing how many achievement whores expect developers to tailor an achievement list to their liking. They never consider that other gamers will also be playing this or care if other people like certain types of achievements, it's always "me, me, me" and the developers are forcing them to do something they shouldn't have to do to get an achievement. It's always the developers or games fault, it's never their fault that they've twisted the achievement system and have become OCD with it.

@#32 and 34: While I respectively disagree, I see your point. I just don't think achievements should be tied to an ENTIRE playthrough. Seems excessive to me. But to each his own.

@#32, don't take this the wrong way, but you are getting way too worked up about this issue. Relax holmes. i probably won't buy this garbage anyway.

I personally was going to do multiple playthroughs, just like the achievements are laid out, a stealth run through, one action, and one mixed. If anyone is stoked for this game, I think you should like the achievements, you will get to enjoy the game in all glorious aspects. This full 1000 G will be for the true admirers of Dishonored.

So because of the achievement list not being to your liking you feel the need to slate the game? Despite the game being widely hailed by critics and gamers (so far) as a potential game of the year! Apply to however...

Also why post on the comments for a stealth game if you don't like stealth?

For those of you who don't seem to grasp achieevments let me enlighten you...they are there or should be there to enhance the game and perhaps give it replayability. They are not there to give gamers a simple 1000 points they can earn in a couple of hours. If you want a simple 1000 perhaps you should try crap like ice age or shrek the third...

Grinding achievements I can understand, who wants to spend hour upon hour grinding out thousands of kills or looking for hundreds of collectibles?! These do not require any skill or imagination and frankly unless you have zero social life or perhaps unemployed is a complete piss take!

Some of us love going for achievements as well as having a love for playing good video games. I know this may seem like a novel idea but just roll with it and who knows where you'll end up.

That is all x

@#41: I hear what you are saying, but what I am trying to say is that achievements that take an entire run-through to get it (like completing a came without dying or completing a game without killing someone, etc.) are just kind of a turn-off. I don't mind hard achievement games, but it just takes the fun out of a run-through when you are constantly worried about that kind of crap. I already beat Ice Age (excellent game by the way) and Shrek the Third, so those two are out for me. I would do Hannah Montana and My Horse and Me 2, but alas, I beat those two already also. Oh well, maybe Batman Arkham Asylum.

I don't get why people are complaining about these achivements. It's not like you have to get them or %100 the game, it's your choice on how you play, you spent $60 get the achivments if you want to, its not like you're obligated to.

Holy shit man. Do you SERIOUSLY enjoy those games? I have played kid games sure, but I also have 5 siblings all younger than me. They love those games and even more when I play with them.. But i don't think this applies to you. So you can hate dedicating a whole run through and go back to my horse and me, I'll be getting this, and actually ENJOY playing it.

I won't be going back to My Horse and Me 2 (they never released #1 on the Xbox 360, so get your facts straight! kidding) because I got the 1000. But I am playing Batman Arkham Asylum and am loving it. After that, I hope to play some more kids games just to anger people like you.

I enjoy to get some achievements or finish up a game, but i def not would call myself an achievement hunter or whore. I just enjoy a good game and if it so happens that i manage to get 1000G out of it, fine by me, but no big deal. But some def make a living out of it, but hey everybody his/her own right?
