Leipzig Day 4 Update - The One We Forgot to Post

Today the doors at the Leipzig Games Convention opened to the public. Hundreds and thousands of eager games waited outside the gates this morning before the doors opened. What a joy it was to see that queue from the inside as we watched out, knowing we’d escaped the rush.
Day 2 of the official event was a great day on all fronts. For the vast majority of the day, Routine and Minty trawled the show floor playing demos and early codes of the best (and worst) upcoming titles. When they weren’t doing that, they were meeting the devs of Guitar Hero World Tour, Heroes Over Europe and the console exclusive, Race PRO which looks very promising.
I personally spent the day surfing the business booths alone seeing some of the year’s most exciting titles come to life. I dashed from EA to Midway, to SouthPeak to SEGA for large proportions of the day and I must say that after seeing some of the titles on show, I came to realise how amazing our holiday period is going to be this year.
Huge credit and praise must be thrust on the following titles: Left 4 Dead, Bayonetta and Alpha Protocol which look certain to me to break the 90 mark review wise (this is on first impressions of course).
People may know I’m a huge Left 4 Dead fan, but seeing the game in action and getting some live commentary from Valve legends Doug Lombardi and Gabe Newell was one of the highlights of my day. The game looks like a proverbial zombie bloodbath and the director code truly looks like it could define a few titles in the years to come.
But serious credit must go to SEGA, who’s upcoming espionage RPG, Alpha Protocol and hack and slash inspired, Bayonetta (from the Devil May Cry creator) absolutely blew my socks off. I mean, just wait till you read the previews that we’ll do on these two titles and you’ll see how extremely positive we’ll be about them in more than a few aspects.
