Ahhhh, the Olympics... It's a great reason to watch people push themselves to their physical limits from the comfort of your own couch. It's also another one of those periods where people attempt to cash in and this year is no different.
At the same period EA will be releasing their Olympic title Beijing 2008, we'll also be seeing German outfit, dtp's version, aptly named "Summer Athletics" and guess when we'll be seeing it... Yup, that's right, the summer.
Summer Athletics allows the gamer to step in to over 25 different Olympic events, such as hammer, javelin, sprinting, swimming amongst others. So expect some intense button mashing [thank the gaming gods for turbo pads].
The game will feature multiplayer action [Xbox Live? Not known yet but in this day and age, I'd expect it] and will have four difficulty levels in two modes [career and arcade]. The game also boasts "a character editor, lifelike 3D graphics, realistic athlete animations, and an impressive stadium atmosphere with the flair of live competitions."
Will it have the legs to out run EA's Beijing 2008? Will it take home the gold or is it a bronze title? Who knows, but for now, we'll give you some screens to keep you occupied.
