None of it is actual gameplay footage, but still, this first trailer for Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Patriots still offers up some tantalising hints as to the kind of gameplay we can expect to see in the sequel when it releases in two years time. Yes. Two years time.
Making decisions seems to be the next big thing for Rainbow 6 Patriots, whether it's blowing out the candle on your birthday muffin, kissing your wife, turning on your TV or deciding what to do with a man who has had a bomb strapped to his chest by terrorists and is about to blow.
Not only will you play from the perspective of Team Rainbow itself, but you'll even experience events through the eyes of some of your mission objectives, holding onto the detonator switch for the bomb strapped to your own body for instance. It's a potentially fascinating premise, and if it's executed as well as the CG trailer demonstrates, Rainbow 6 Patriots could be a dramatic and affecting military yarn.
The only problem? You're going to have to wait until 2013 to play it and there are no actual screenshots or gameplay footage from Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Patriots to speak of. This, ladies and gentlemen, is tantamount to torture. Check out the video below.
