Get used to hearing about destiny and fate a lot in relation to Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. It appears to be one of the key innovations in the game, enabling you to adapt your class to your play style, rather than choosing who your character is going to be from the very beginning.
There's a variety of different destinies that you can unlock for your hero, including the warrior, mage or jack-of-all-trades, each of which bring unique advantages. For instance, the mage is able to use an ability called 'blink' that enables you to teleport short distances in battle to get the jump on enemies. You can even add poison to your blink for an extra kick.
This new developer diary takes a closer look at the destinies system, as well as showcasing a few of the abilities that come with each class you can develop for your adventurer. It looks like a refreshingly flexible system. Check out the video to find out more. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is out on February 7th, 2012 in North America and February 10th, 2012 in Europe.
