Here's one that (stupidly) slipped through the news net... Atlus is teaming up with HBO to make a game of Game of Thrones, with Cyanide Studios on development duties for the action RPG, which will be taking both the bestselling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' books and the hit TV show starring Sean Bean as its inspiration. The original story is also being written under the supervision of the books' original author George R.R. Martin.
To date, the series of books has sold 15 million, while the HBO TV hit has scooped two primetime Emmy awards, making it one of the most popular fantasy franchises of all time. In the game, you'll be able to get involved in the drama as it unfolds, with a 30 hour-plus action RPG, set within the gritty medieval land of Westeros. You'll assume the role of one of two soldiers from Robert's Rebellion, forging alliances and waging war, as you play a pivotal role in the battle for the Seven Kingdoms.
You'll tackle numerous quests and make tough decisions, while exploring key locations within Westeros, from the majesty and isolation of the Wall, to the dark streets and alleyways of King's Landing. Check out the first screens from Game of Thrones below, then unsheath thine steel for the game's arrival in the year of 2012.
