Splash Damage Debunks Disney Marvel Game Rumours

Yesterday, we ran a news story on Splash Damage's rumoured secret project following Brink, which pointed to the UK developer working with Disney on a new Marvel game. The speculation surrounding the project seemed to have an air of possibility about it, as it was said to be an "unannounced project for a major entertainment brand" and "based on one of the biggest American pop culture brands of the last 50 years".
That sounded like Disney and Marvel to us, but Splash Damage's Paul Wedgwood has nipped the rumours in the bud, replying to a tweet from VG247's News Ed, Johnny Cullen, asking whether the story was true or complete arse. Here's Wedgwood's response: "Yes. We're not working with Disney. We're not building a pop culture IP. We're only using BRINK tech for BRINK updates atm".
So, there'll be no Disney/Marvel game using the Brink engine, and Splash Damage isn't working with Disney or any kind of popular culture IP. Consider that rumour duly, resolutely debunked! Bam!
