Gears of War 3 is getting a welcome injection of campaign DLC next week with RAAM's Shadow, and G4TV has got a first look preview video showing off the upcoming add-on, with gameplay from RAAM's viewpoint, as well as a glimpse at some of the returning characters like Tai and Kim. And there's more too.
Playing as RAAM, you'll be able to wield his nasty serrated blade that you can use to charge at the COG for an impaling execution like the Retro Lancer, or you can send out your swarm of Kryll to go and do your dirty work for you. In four-player co-op, one of you will play as RAAM, while the others will either play as two Mauler lieutenants with reflective shields or as an Elite Theron with a bayonet sawed-off. Either way, it looks like a winner.
There's also a fixed, top-down Hammer of Dawn for the COG to play with, enabling you to launch some satisfying aerial attacks upon the Locust hordes in the non-RAAM portion of the DLC. It all looks quite marvellous, and so should hopefully be well worth the 1200 Microsoft Points asking price when it launches on XBL on December 13th. Or you can get it free with the Season Pass, which is still available for 2400 MSP.
