EA has announced a new swing mechanic for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 today, as well as a host of new social and online features for the 22nd season of EA Sports golfing franchise, and a Collector's Edition that'll grant even greater access to the Masters Tournament and August National Golf Club.
The new swing mechanic is the crux of Tiger 13 though, and it's what EA Sports is calling "the most comprehensive swing mechanic revamp in over a decade", taking into account ball position, your golfer's stance and their swing tempo. This apparently enables players to replicate the countless swing combinations adopted by the real-life PGA Tour pros.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 will also feature Kinect integration, allowing for voice control and presumably some club swinging action. More details are to be unveiled on the game's Kinect features in due course. For now, EA has revealed that there'll be 22 licensed PGA professionals in the game, Online Country Clubs for competing against other clubs in the Club Championship. There's also Tiger's Golf Legacy, enabling you to relive Mr. Wood's most memorable moments. Steady now...
And finally, there's the Collector's Edition, which gives players exclusive access to the Masters tour with the Augusta National Golf Club to explore, the famous par 3 course and an authentic Green Jacket Presentation, whatever that means. There's also five additional championship courses crowbarred into the Collector's Edition.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 and the Collector's Edition will be teeing off on March 27th in North America and March 30th in Europe. Check out the videos below and first 15 screenshots in the gallery. Fore and that.
