Silent Hill: Downpour
Silent Hill Set to Dominate the Month of March

Konami has announced proper, concrete, slap-'em-on-your-calendar dates for all of the Silent Hill titles currently cooking away in their big rusty - and presumably haunted - oven, which means you can start getting excited for some pant-wetting psychological horror in just a couple of months time.

First up will be the delayed Silent Hill: HD Collection, which having been pushed from its proposed January release wil now hit the stores on March 6th, 2012 in North America and (presumably therefore) March 9th, 2012 in Europe. That'll be closely followed just a week later on March 13th, by brand spanking new Silent Hill title, Downpour, which stars escaped convict Murphy Pendleton, who finds himself fighting for survival through the spooky small town.

So, one month, three Silent Hill games to sink your teeth into. Bring spare underwear.

Doubt it. Huge SH fan but "dominate" March, I think not. With ME3 coming out, i think its going to hurt its sales.

I think it'd had been smarter to release these a little apart from each other. My wife will want to get both so in the span of a week she'll have essentially 3 Silent Hill games to play...

Look good and I enjoyed Silent Hill 1 and 2 on PS2 and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories on Wii. I had played Silent Hill in 2009 for Xbox 360 and it is awful Silent Hill game made. Let hope this year Silent Hill much improvements over it :)

I don't know what to play now. Mass Effect 3 comes out in March and I am a fan of both franchises. Goodbye wallet.

@5 Youre either trolling or an idiot... you realize Mass Effect 3 comes out in March right? I could name more games in March but ME3 alone is efficient enough to prove your comment wrong.

@14 The HD Collection is just Silent Hill 2 and 3... it doesnt include 1, 4, or Origins.

So far this year, I want Kingdom of Amalur, Mass Effect 3, Silent HD Collection, Silent Hill:Downpour and Neverdead just to name a few. I really need a job and quick! Should get my backlog cleared as well. 11 bloody games waiting before this lot.

But I love Silent Hill, have played 1-4 and enjoyed every moment of them. Then the 360 version came out and made me want to vomit my lungs. Looked pretty, but that's it. Shame really.

Downpour looks awesome but if I had to pick one up, it has to be the HD collection. Downpour takes the second seat. Been waiting HD collection for a long time and its nice to see that they are pouring (see what I did there...ah! never mind) some love in the collection.

Now if only Capcom follows this suite.

@17 I know what you mean. I went in to a gamestation store and pe-ordered around 11 games. Im currently trying to finish as many games I got at home as possible. Finished L.A. Noire and enslaved last week, working on saints row than on to vanquish. As well as mass effect 1 :/

@17: I think you are talking about Homecoming. For me, Homecoming was a mixed bag of treats. Some nice ideas not executed right. Creature design was uninspired but the damage the creature showed was awesome. The storyline was ok but could have been better. I can go on. I just look at it as a horror game, not as a Silent Hill game.

So long as they go the route of SH:2 and not the route of SH:Homecoming with Downpour then I'll be happy.

Both are pre-ordered, so now we play the waiting game.

yup, very stupid move on Konami's part, there is no way in hell i will be getting Downpour,hd collection and mass effect 3 at the same time,so one will have to give, and its not going to be Mass Effect 3.......the January date of HD collection was perfect and now they have fucked everything up

good job i don't plan on buying a vita as the Vita silent hill game is also due in March....Konami have totally lost it,do they honestly believe we all have so much money to buy all these games at once?

Er... my last comment was cut off:

Day one for both. (Heart symbol that screws up posting) SH. Mass Effect 2 dropped in price unbelievably fast, I don't know why anyone would rush out for 3 day one, especially since it isn't going to be complete until they are done releasing DLC anyway. Konami probably won't do DLC for Downpour, so it's complete out the gate. Just sayin'.

@#16 - You realize not everyone likes Mass Effect, right?

I have absolutely no interest at all in it.

Only games I am interested in (for 360) in March are SH and RE.

But obviously, there will be tons of people more interested in Mass Effect and Street Fighter x Tekken.

I'll probably still play it because I love Silent Hill but when I heard they weren't using the same team that did the music for the first 3 and that Korn was doing the main theme I was kinda disappointed.

@#32 - Yeah, I think the most disappointing thing is that Akira Yamaoka left and wasn't doing the music (but he IS doing the music for the new movie, and I forget if he's doing music for the crappy looking Vita game), but it IS from the guy who did the music for the show Dexter, so it's got quality, but it isn't exactly what we were looking forward to.

And while I never hated Korn or anything, I really don't like the idea of them doing the song instead of Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. Especially when they still have her (she was doing some of the redone voice work for the HD Collection).

Also kinda sad they went to ANOTHER new studio. I thought Climax did a pretty decent job with SHSM and SH0. And I forget who did Homecoming, but I thought that was a good game as well.

@26 You do realize that ME3 already has as many pre-orders as ME2 had in total? ME3's opening is going to be FAR bigger than Me2's. Utterly ridiculous idea by Konami. In March there are already ME3, Max Payne 3, Ninja Gaiden 3, Dragons Dogma and a resident evil game! Konami have decided to release their horror title in the same month as a far more popular horror series...... good idea.

HD collection should have been released in January then followed by Downpour in February. Or have delayed both till later in the year. As usual it's looking like May-August are almost completely barren despite time and time again companies showing that games can sell big when released in these months.

It ain't gonna dominate shit, March has so many good games coming out it's's fucking Silent Hill people, get over it already, the only good one is the first one and that needed a remake like 5 years ago.
