Saber Interactive and Namco Bandai's gravity-defying third-person shooter, Inversion has been delayed as speculated yesterday when a number of retailers changed the date on the game from its official February 2012 slot to a March 27th date.

Speaking to Gamespot, a Namco representative stated that more details regarding a release date for Inversion will be forthcoming, and that "this additional development time will allow the team to polish several key aspects of the game ensuring Inversion is of the highest quality."

Inversion had been originally slated for a 2010 release, and had been tagged with an official February release date for this year. Now the gravity-bending co-op shooter will be floating into stores later in the year. For more on Inversion, check out our last preview.

At least it's a relatively short delay. Not like XCOM that got pushed into next year

@ 3 - Delays in general can tip either way. Most claim that longer delays ensures better polishing, better coding, etc. Whereas Too Human and Duke Nukem Forever were both around 10 years in development and both seemed like they belonged on last generations consoles.

Army of Two: 40th Day was pushed for a small amount of time. Didn't fix a single issue that botched the first game IMO.

You can polish shit all you want, it won't magically turn into gold.

Good to delay for a better product, however its a great shame that even now in 2012 games are released with so many bugs, this delay will just take out most of the really terrible ones

I'll have the *Metal Gear Solid HD Collection* to keep me well and truly entertained for the next bundle of months (if not years), so I'm not bummed about it. Sorry for those who were really looking forward to it, though.

@16 Fracture's gameplay owned, but the atmosphere around said gameplay (story, characters, dialogue, etc.) were terrible. This looks like it's gonna be the same.

I don't mind the delays. More polish means a greater experience for us as gamers. What i dont understand is everyone's obsession with March. There are other months in this quarter of the year!

@ 9 I couldn't have said it better. @ 12 I like to consider myself informed with all the websites and magazines I read on games and gaming. I must say though like you I had never heard of this game until today.

Can't wait for this game but they should take all the time they can. I hope a promising new IP will be excellent.

Never heard of this before. Sad since it has an interesting concept. Unfortunately, so few shooters can differentiate themselves from the crowd. I seriously doubt this will be special (sorry fans keeping up with it!).

And it's Saber. I really wanted to enjoy Timeshift or whatever the hell it's called but it was basic. I'm pulling for all these little guys to put out great product but the big bully companies seem to have final say.
