Friends and countrymen, lend me your ears. You'll need them for this latest Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning developer diary in which the music and sound is the focus, featuring some insight into the blustering, sweeping orchestral score and the magical sound effects.
Not only does the video look at building a rich soundscape so that you're not bombarded with repetitive sounds or annoying effects, but it also looks at composing a soundtrack that fits with the game's scale and setting of Amalur. There's even some behind the scenes footage of the actual soundtrack being recorded, with a full orchestra, complete with horns, strings and all that.
Big Huge Games' Audio Director, Grant Kirkhope takes you through his process working on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning in the new developer diary, which is well worth a watch to whet your appetite ahead of the RPG's imminent release on February 7th in North America and February 10th in Europe. Watch it!
