Winter Stars was one of our lowest scoring games in 2011, scraping out a meagre 35 out of 100, so we suspect that developer 49 Games will be wanting to set things straight with the newly announced Summer Stars 2012, the Kinect athletics game that'll no doubt be timed for release before the 2012 Olympics come to London.
Offering a "challenging and deep career mode" (that's what it says here), with multiplayer for up to 4-players and 18 different disciplines and challenges to tackle, Summer Stars 2012 hopes to offer "high replay value" and a "gripping 'one more go' experience" with the likes of triple jump, mountain biking, diving and sprinting. Hmm...
There'll be splitscreen support for you and up to three friends, and as well as supporting Kinect, Summer Stars will also support traditional arcade-style controls. Mindless button-mashing?! Now you're talking! Summer Stars will be getting people jumping around with Kinect or creating arthritic claws when it launches in quarter 2 this year.
Check out some of the first screens below, which include a sprinter in yellow, remembering that he left the oven on at home.
