Though it does not serve as a prequel or tie-in to the upcoming Brothers in Arms game due out this year, military fans or comic book fans in general might be interested in checking this out. Co-written by David Wohl (who has written many Darkness and Witchblade comics) and Mike Neumann (who has voiced characters in three different Brothers in Arms games) and drawn by Davide Fabbri (who has worked on many Star Wars comics), this is sure to be a fine comic.

Issue #1 is titled "Drop" and will be available this week for $3.99 from Dynamite Entertainment.

"With its unprecedented combination of authenticity, compelling story and squad-based action, Brothers in Arms has established itself as a benchmark for military action games, quickly becoming the highest rated WWII action franchise to date. Based on the true stories of the men who served their country so valiantly in World War 2, Dynamite's all-new comic book series is being developed with game writers David Wohl and Mike Neumann, along with artist Davide (Star Wars) Fabbri!

Issue #1 will be 40 big pages (with 32 pages of story and art) of non-stop action as we pick up with our squad in the events leading up to D-Day! Our story centers around Sergeant Matthew Baker and the role that he plays in "Operation: Overlord," a.k.a. D-Day. Originally assigned to lead his squad on a mission to recapture the French village of Carentan, Baker's plans unexpectedly change when his C-47 transport plane is hit by anti-aircraft fire and he's forced to jump prematurely, along with the rest of his men, who are now scattered across the landing zone. Now Baker must battle fatigue, the elements, and the overwhelming German army, to find his compatriots and continue on his mission to defeat the enemy and help win the war.

I'm almost positive it's a 3-issue mini-series.

Oh, and Halo: Uprising #3 is scheduled for June 11 :)

This is really good idea for a comic. Never heard of a war comic, pretty cool. Might have to sit at Books-a-Million and read these lol.

Looks simply awesome. Hopefully this will come out in a timely manner unlike the Halo comics.

I'm looking forward to another WW II game, haven't seen one in awhile. I hope this isn't a let down like medal of honor and hour of victory, hell if they delayed it so much like GTA IV it better be good

I'm sort of excited for Brothers in Arms, the storytelling is great, and the level of gore in it is the mst realistic I've seen in any game. Arms and legs will fly off if hit by a grenade, and will dismember if a mounted machine gun tears right through them. Mere bullet wounds won't do this, but the heavy stuff will, which is the most realistic I've seen any game do it.
