A mysterious image distributed by Atlus may suggest that the Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena, a fighter spin-off of the acclaimed JRPG, may be on its way to the West.
The game, which features characters Persona 4 and 3, was announced for release in Japan this year. No official statement has been given in regards to the possibility of localisation. Until now. Kinda.
Let me explain. Yesterday, Atlus USA released an image that appeared to be a blank black rectangle. However, after a bit of fiddling, the image (below) was revealed to say “Stay Tuned.” This was taken to be a reference to Persona 4’s TV World alternate reality.
Later investigation revealed that the distinctive pattern in the background is actually a chunk of the Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena logo. So these details, coupled with the fact that Atlus USA sent the email, has lead many to speculate that the fighting game will be making it to Western shores.
Is it true? We can only guess.
