Fresh Details on AC: Revelations The Lost Archive DLC

We’ve finally got a few concrete details as to the content of the new Assassins Creed: Revelations DLC.

Called “The Lost Archive,” costing 800 MSP [corrected], starring Desmond and releasing on Feb 28th, we already had a few scraps of info thanks to slips and educated guesses, but now a trailer over at online retailer Zavvi reveals a few more snippets (it has since been taken down, soz).

We've seen it though. Apparently, the DLC will offer up a bit more information about Subject 16, revealing when the mysterious figure joined the assassins and how he fits into the overall story. The trailer also reveals that Desmond will indeed star in some more of those puzzle missions inside the Animus.

Meanwhile, we’re still waiting on an official announcement from Ubisoft.

  • This puzzle shit isn't worth 10 msps. Fuck off with your inflated prices Ubisoft.
  • Find me one person who enjoyed the block bits?
  • Thanks for fixing the sage achievement ubisoft but no thanks for this dlc.
  • Worst part of the fuckin' game was Desmond's shit puzzles. NO BUY! I'll watch on youtube.
  • @2 I di..... No I can't lie they were boring and a kind of rip off of portal I'm glad I left them to last
  • If its Desmonds first person missions, I will not buy.
  • More proof Ubi concentrated more on the shit MP mode. When they realized all we want is single player DLC they scrambled and probably put in the crap they left out in the first place. Well at least it's good to know Ubi is following in all other developer's shoes and charging a ridiculous amount for shit DLC. A+ for consistency.
  • If I don't get to kill anyone in the whole dlc, why is it even called assissins creed then. In the multiplayer I at least get to kill some people.
  • Well, I'm eager to get my 100% back but 1200msp, really ? If announcing a complete edition merely 2 months after the original release wasn't enough to piss us off they keep making crappy and overpriced DLC to reward early buyers ? Way to go, Ubi !
  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CLnqbzDJiaI trailer btw ;)
  • I enjoyed the Desmond stuff. No one enjoys puzzles any more. I loved revelations to bad i sent it back to gamefly I should have kept it.
  • I enjoyed the blocked bits. But I was pretty drunk!!! I'd enjoy anything drunk!! Ah well looks like I'm gettin drunk. Again!!!
  • The Desmond bits were pretty weak. I don't think the game would have suffered much without them. Quite nice to see how Desmond's life progressed but the were not really puzzles either. It was just go from here to there and half of them you can do by just slamming shapes down and running, or building up the way so that when an orange net beam thing hits you fall a bit then can place another shape to stop you then continue running. Anyway, I doubt I'll buy this until it's on a Ubi-sale or DotW.
  • I read somewhere the 1200msp was a mistake, and it is actually 800msp?
  • 1200pts is way over priced compared to previous ac dlc!
  • get your facts straight x360 you just copied major nelsons upcoming marketplace stuff and you saw it said 800 points.....
  • While the block's where not the best part of the game I wouldn't say they where bad. It was kind of neat getting more detail on Desmond's life prior to being abducted by Abstergo. And I really don't understand why people keep saying it's a Portal rip off. Is it because you're in the first persona and trying to get around a map by unconventional means?
  • @14 i saw in an email sent to me from gamestop last week this would be $14.99 and thats where info on this leaked so i doubt those rumors are true. i passed on every bit of dlc from this game and plan to do the same on this those puzzle missons were a chore. i don't get mad about cost of dlc or how often this title is being released but when the just go against all feed back and make this crap whats wrong with ubi? and then they don't advertise this and it due out in 5 days or how they annouced ac3 would be out this year.
  • I enjoyed the change of pace and a different way of unveiling Desmond's pivotal points in his life through narration while Altair showed brief snippets of his life and we fully lived through Ezio. I don't think it's worth 1200 MSP...but then again, neither is the price tag on COD Elite IMO since it's more or less a subscribed stat tracker with a few bonuses.
  • I knew thier would be some more Desmond DLC as there are 2 empty doorways on animus island, I love AC but I hope 1200 msp is wrong as its way to much, Ubi your heading down the Activision path of charging ridiculous amounts of cash for mediocand map packs and that ain't good please don't!..........
  • Just sold my copy and im glad, tho I love assassins creed there is no way im paying 1200mp for that desmond bullshit. I'll prob pick this up again when the game of the year edition comes out and its cheap. That or the ottoman edition depending on what dlc it includes, too lazy to look it up
  • I will buy it for the achievements when it's on sale. Revelations destroyed the whole Assassin's Creed atmosphere in my opinion. Half of the Bonus objectives were either don't kill anyone or don't alert anyone. WTF, I want to kill people! It's called ASSASSIN's creed for a reason Ubisoft!
  • Doesn't matter what the price is.... PASS !!!!!
  • @11 Puzzle!? The only puzzling thing about that was if i could materialise an infinite amount of blocks. Why could I not just create a staircase and have done with it all?
  • @#22: Er, you do know revealing yourself before you strike and killing innocents break two tenets of the Creed?
  • @ 24 - Bc you COULDN'T create an infinite number of blocks. They started disappearing after you used X amount. You didn't like it. We get it. Don't pay for it. Simple as that.
  • "Meanwhile, we’re still waiting on an ***official*** announcement from Ubisoft." Observation before Speculation.
  • @2 I found the Desmond bits very interesting, although not particularly challenging they were in my opinion quite enjoyable. And the story involved in them telling you about Desmonds past in more detail was very well written.
  • I agree with the folks who said the puzzle bits weren't bad. They weren't great, but they weren't some huge giant chore. That being said... I'd MAYBE pay like 250 pts or something for them. MAYBE 500. 1200? I'd rather get Alan Wake's American Nightmare.
  • @26 I know you’re an idiot. you have displayed that many times. but maybe you need to Google the world infinite? Because as far as I could tell you could produce as many as you liked. Maybe you had the special Floid edition which made a sarcastic and condescending comment every time you laid a block?
  • I'm a bit confused how people found the "First Person Tetris" stuff interesting. They literally told you in the previous games his lifestory, event by event of what we were forced to play. Watching a dodgy slideshow (with images of South Dakota, the shame of America) of stuff we all ALREADY KNEW wasn't exactly that interesting... Maybe if he'd met some post-op trannies in New York or something, that would have spiced it up a bit.
  • @2 I did, kinda cool, but definitely not worthy of this much money. Subject 16 has never really interested me either, he doesn't seem as important to the AC universe has Ubisoft would like to make it seem, why center a whole DLC around him?
  • @ 30 - Apparently somebody's on the rag. You're in desperate need of Midol, sweety. There were either a finite amount before they started disappearing or they were timed b/c it happened to me. However, you're seemingly so much smarter than me so I'll leave you to your own assumptions. BTW - There was nothing condescending/sarcastic about my previous comment. You're crying about something you don't want. Why bother? Quit your wishy washy parade or are you going to be like the other oh-so-smartypants' and make an alternate account like mine?
  • @34 You have some serious self-esteem issues. It’s almost as if you go on news threads. Pick out the popular opinion. then go against the grain for a reaction? But I’ll leave that to you assumptions. A lot of people may dislike you but rest assured I don’t. I just think you’re a cock. And on topic (imagine that floid) they are timed. So instead of looking out of the window with your tongue out while you try and work out the basic puzzle. Hurry it up a notch.
  • Piece of cr@p DLC.
  • @ 35 - 3rd Paragraph "buddy". http://www.ign.com/wikis/assassins-creed-revelations/Part_1:_Doubts Either way, timed or no - That's no "Infinite", is it? "A lot of people may dislike you but rest assured I don’t. I just think you’re a cock." It's a game website - I could care less about my "popularity". And for someone that doesn't care about me, you spend an awful lot of time replying to me or paying attention to me. Call it what you want, most people call it obsessive envy. Don't bother me a bit. Just move on and quit making a big deal out of something that "you don't care about".
  • @7 Here, here! I totally agree! The 'Assassin's Creed' series are better as single player campaign games, and they should have left them as that. MP is shit, and as you stated, just a way for them (Ubisoft) to follow suit with all the other developers and rip us off with online passes, MP maps and characters DLC.
  • I buy puzzle-based games when I want to dick about rearranging blocks to reach a goal (hello Catherine!). From an AC game I want free running, investigations, plot twists and lots and lots of combat. To be fair, I'm not even sure I want online functionality, but that's a topic for another thread. Will not buy.
  • @Floid. Spare your boring rambling. I’m eating this yogurt then im going home. Wait for another thread to come up, Pick someone out and make a stupid comment to irritate them. It’s what you do best. Your mums very proud of you. Adieu
  • @37 I don't think it's whether it's timed/the blocks are infinite/whatever else you're saying - I think what most people on the thread are bothered about is that this DLC centres on the part of the game that most people thought was rather poor, and adds achieveemtns meaning that people going for 100% will have to fork out for something they don't like to keep it.
  • achieveemtns = achievements No idea WTF happened there! haha.
  • Waiting for DotW big time.
  • Moving on to people that aren't verbally suckling at the tip of my cocker... @ 38 - The MP is just different. Everybody's just so stuck on the continuous FPS' like COD, BF, Halo, etc, they're scared of something new. At first, it can be a bit frustrating but after you unlock more perks and abilities, the thrill of the hunt/chase becomes more enthralling. The big issue is Matchmaking Searching but a lot of the modes are fun. Corruption, Artifact Assault (the FFA version is like Kill the Man with the Ball). Not to mention, almost all the MP DLC was free to dirt cheap aside from the Da Vinci Disappearance which was SP/MP for 800 MSP. I knew this one would be brought down to 800 and a couple of achievements sound like you could be playing Desmond in the 3rd person too. Who knows. I just recently got 5600 MSP anyway so I'm going to check it out.
  • @ 41 - The timed block thing is just something that Aaron wants to try and argue with me on b/c he's got some internet vendetta against me b/c I'm "rough around the edges". It's hilarious to me b/c he claims I never post "On topic" which is just as hilarious. I said though I didn't think it was the best gameplay mechanic idea, especially for the 1200 assumption but I wasn't overly impressed with the Memories 12 & 13 from AC2 and they were around 320 MSP apiece with NO achievements. It was interesting to see how Ezio lost the Apple though. I'm wondering how much of Subject 16 will play a role. He "survived" after merging Desmonds fragmented memory.
  • Does anyone see the new DLC achievements on their ACR achievement tile on their console profile? After the update I thought I would be able to see them, but I still see 59/59. Some have said they already see all 69 achievements. Anyone else have them on their console yet?
  • @ 46 - I scoped them out over the weekend. Can't remember if I was checking them or comparing them but it had the new list. I remember b/c one was "Land on a block after dropping 25 meters" or so.
  • @47-They've been on the Xbox.com profile for a week or so, but I cannot get them to come up on my console profile. So they are showing up on your console profile?
  • It was definitely on the console version. Like I said, I think I was comparing with a buddies. But just regularly checking might not cause them to show up. That or the update that happened yesterday did something. Not sure honestly but they were there at a point.
  • Yeah, not buying this until it goes on sale. Doesn't look like it will be worth the asking price.
  • @49-Thanks bud. I'll try and do a friend game compare for ACR when I get home. They are definately not showing on my regular ACR tile.
  • The What with all the hate for Desmond sequences? They definetly weren't the best part of the game and all the info you learned coulcv'e been explained in some cutscense but people are acting like this completely ruined the game for them. I'm gonna get this , might wait till its on sale but I'm still gonna get it. AC hasn't let me down yet so I'll give it a shot.
  • @45 I dont have a vendetta against you. I just dont like you. If you could stop baiting me in ever conversation that would be a start. Cheers.
  • Wow! So let me get this straight. 60 bucks for the full game which is just Assassins Creed 2 all over again. Don't get me wrong, I really like the campaign but theres nothing new there. Then you hit us up for a few dlc's which are multiplayer only so nothing I care about. Then, the single player dlc is based on the WORST part of the campaign so again, nothing I care about. THEN, you want me to get excited and preorder the NEXT Assassins Creed that comes out in October. I'm guessing the BIG to-do in AC3 will be the fact that Uplay is out of Beta finally and everything else will be largely unchanged.
  • IMO the Desmond part of the game was not all that bad... not the greatest by any strech of the imagination, but I have no regrets that I spent the time to play it.
  • dear Ubisoft QUIT RUINING ASSASSIN'S CREED YOU FUCKTARDS
  • @ 53 - You don't like me, but you constantly try to argue with me. Most rational people would just ignore me. But ME "baiting" you is my fault. "Who's the more foolish? The fool or the fool who follows." Be sure the next time you eat that yogurt to not take that spoon and accidentally jam it into your eye.
  • They create DLC for, as far as I know, the most hated part of Revelations and think that's a good idea?
  • Ok, really hated the innovation of these brick levels. Loved the story behind it and how it would get more intense as his memories came back. Remember the Animus IS a machine... so it was kinda interesting. Even though its not a GOTY idea for bricks to be the only part of those levels, it was still a cool addition that no one has done. I appreciated what the dev team tried there. This DLC however I feel like will be either much better. I pray this really allows for more cool stuff than just the normal fall, jump, brick, laser, finish level... I love the AC series so this really makes me want it regardless, but it still needs more substance than that. Thanks Ubisoft for it anyways. I will prob be getting it EVENTUALLY...
  • @53 who started it floid? Who always starts it? You try and scalp me to make yourself look popular. I gave you some sound advice a few months ago when others laid into you. You still continue to act the fool. IN your world floid behind your keyboard no one fights back. If they do they are obsessive. in your world people are supposed to take your insults and move on. Idiot. Fucked if they do , fucked if they dont.
  • Mad bro? Again, all you have to do is ignore me. Yet you come flying back with your incessant "blame game". The only thing "making me look good" if at all is your constant attempt to "put me in my place". I've been in many verbal discrepancies with members here. Most resolved, others not. Those in the "Most" category actually wind up talking "to" me rather than trying to call me out on a news forum. It makes no nevermind to me "how I look on a website". You give me ammo, I'll fire back. That's just how I work. As you continue to prove - You're obsessed with me. Otherwise, you would've called me a dick and ignored me b/c I don't look to give people shit. If they offer the opportunity however, I will bite. Your own fault. You can end this now like a big boy or continue to yammer on like a girl. Pick one. Hate me and piss off or just offer to blow me already. You're wasting mine and everyone elses time.
  • @61 so you like to "fire ammo" at people in this situation me. Then except them to call you a dick and fuck off? Does this upset you? Is retort not part of your master plan? You just like to hit and run? haha ill find that article were you where upset people were picking on you then we can all have a laugh at how much you "dont care" What a clown you are.
  • @2 I enjoyed the background info the block bits gave. And I did enjoy the encounter to a degree namely the the river and club parts.
  • @2 I really did enjoy those parts. I liked seeing Desmond's backstory. But, i'll still wait until it goes on sale to get it.
  • @ 62 - The Bioshock Infinite one?? Awesome! I was just mentioning that to someone. Ironical bwahahah. I love that video!! I love how you think that upsets me. Please find it b/c I was looking for it myself. I am a clown. Most people think so and enjoy it. There are the few sour eggs like yourself but even I know you can't win the entire crowd. Be sure you Thumbs Down me too b/c we all know that totally affects my posting. =D
  • I actually loved the block puzzles in Revelations, so probably gonna get this when it comes out.
  • Assassins Creed 3. please dont be plagued with a shitty multi-player mode. dont even include it in the game at all. because it SHOULD NOT HAVE IT. the game was flawless until they just decided "oh hey we are gonna add multi-player to this franchise now" Why? " umm because thats what every other company is doing, and if you wanna make money on DLC you gotta learn how to milk your customers with bullshit that is called DLC " what a joke.
  • @ 67 - Majority of all the DLC put out by the AC franchise was cheap if not free. This and the Da Vinci Disappearance were the only 800 MSPers. Brotherhood offered more than 2 free sets.
  • Seen the trailer. Looks like they're trying to improve on the most boring part of Revelations. Smart move. Unfortunate for Ubisoft though. Because it was so boring, no one wants it.
  • @65 no im talking about the time you typed. and you typed. and you replied to everyones post.... and you typed some more zzzzzzzzzz then people started getting bored of your "witty" one liners and trying to open your posts with. You got called a bad writer and that was it! You got upset and started pulling the "i dont give a shit!!!!! " card. Then I gave you some sound advice. Fell on deaf ears. You're still a massive bellend. I wish I could find it. Really highlights what a moron you are.
  • LOL just Youtube the cutscenes and save yourself $10
  • What's with the word "fresh" popping up everywhere? Did I fall into 1993? Should I find my Jnco jean shorts and skateboard?
  • @2 here I am. I enjoied those scenes. I sometimes like to use my brain and reflexes, that's why I love Assassin's Creed and I like Desmond's sequences.
  • The best part of these AC games is the STORY, I've played these games ever since they came out because of the story. The story is what makes this game so good. Not killing everybody you see. So I'm definitely not passing up an opportunity to learn more about the story of the game. I want to know everything about this game.
  • @2 I enjoyed them as well.
  • If the next Assassin's Creed has more den defense and tetris minigame bits then it'll be the first that I don't buy. If I choose to buy it, I will buy used because I don't wish to support them releasing more shitty content.
  • This pack includes both pre-order bonuses I already got from Gamestop (Vlad the impaler mission & ottoman jester multiplayer character)! I call shinanigins! I'm marching to France with my broom!
  • #77 lol no one cares if you buy it or no. they're still gonna make millions of $
  • lol what a bunch of crybabies.
