Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII-2 is to get yet another Coliseum Battle DLC, this time featuring wily female antagonist, Jihl Nabaat.

Andriasang has the first screenshots of the DLC, showing the upcoming Jihl Nabaat Coliseum Battle, which as usual will enable you to add the character to your party upon defeating her.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be getting the Jihl Nabaat Coliseum Battle from March 13th for 240 Microsoft Points.

once i got all 1000 points on this game it became very boring very quickly. infact it was boring before i even completed it 100% i dont see the point in dlc for this game at all. Big whoop i can fight some one new in colesium, with my team it will be a 1minute battle anyways

@2 Agreed. Waste of time.

They have an achivement for maxing out your party then expect you to care about easy dlc.

Out of all FF enemies/people they choose her?

I'm glad that Square Enix is really embracing DLC for the final fantasy series, but I wish they would do a like a pack of a bunch of different coliesium battles for 5 dollars rather then doing them all individually. Sometimes it seems that XIII-2 is their DLC experiment where they can release all this different content just to see what people will buy.

These are cool, but too little for the price.

Like #4 said, they should release a bunch of characters for $5 or something, instead of one for $3.

This kind of DLC is only really useful to people who haven't completed the game yet, so honestly, it should just be free. No smart person spends money on something that doesn't do anything. Especially in an RPG.

Achievements aside, an RPG is a finite game. There is a point where there's nothing left to do. Not many people are going to sit there and level up all of the summon party members for lulz when there's no real reward for it, in-game or in the dashboard. DLC for an RPG has to be significant. It has to be an area with new stuff and new things to do, with new characters that aren't maxed out and ultimately need to expand the story.

These kinds of things do nothing for an RPG. If you're done, you're literally just going to be spending $3 to do a 2 minute battle and then probably never even use the character. What's the point?

At least with say, a fighting game, it allows you to learn a new character and maybe play them online. And fighting games are forever until you move on to the next one. Or an adventure/action game, where you get a new character with new abilities so you can replay the game with them or something.

But who is going to replay an RPG this soon after it released?

This is probably a huge welcome for those who hated Nabaat from the first game xD

agreed with #2 i was maxed level by the time i was like 2 thirds of the way through the game so the last 5/6 hours were shit and boring and battles last no time at all so getting a new person to fight does not interest me

Dear Square Enix, You are doing it wrong. Bring in boss battles from older Final Fantasy games and THEN people will be interested and pay for a SINGLE enemy to fight. Sincerely, Disgruntled Since FFX

They are taking the piss with the dlc for this game. When done right, dlc is brilliant, ie borderlands, red dead....this shit is laughable compared

I'm guessing all this DLC will be moot within 6 months to a year. SE is going to release the "Super Platinum International Not Game of the Year" Edition that will include all DLC, expansions, pre-order bonuses, etc and will be under the price of the initial release.

@17. My thoughts exactly. There are no more enemies to fight in the game, so what is the point in recruiting more characters?

I always find it humorous when people mention Borderlands dlc as something to look up to....hours upon hours of pointless arena battles? hours upon hours of grinding out drops from enemies AFTER you have finished all quests in the dlc? While Borderlands dlc was enjoyable (minus Moxxi), they artificially extended the length of it WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more than was needed/wanted. Grinding for hours just to pick up a few panties or slices of pizza is NOT good content. Period.

It's nice to see Square Enix testing the dlc market finally. They're doing it wrong, yes...but in all fairness, they do tend to carry a very high amount of loyalty from their fans. The DLC for this game has no achievements, its just for fun. Like Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed 2, they will learn that no achievements = lower sales. I hate to say it, but that's how dlc works at this point in time. Regardless of the quality of dlc...

FFXIII-3 will have dlc....that HAS achievements. Just wait. Then instead of all the bitching about this dlc being "pointless", the same people will be here bitching that the dlc is "bullshit" because they are "forced" to buy it now.

As #8 said, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Games like Pokemon/Monster Rancher/etc exist on the sole purpose of collecting every creature. Some people just enjoy that. There ARE some people that are leveling up every single creature in the game just to do it. Just because you don't, doesn't mean its wrong. Not to mention not everyone buys the game at release. Anyone picking it up now will have a nice selection of dlc characters to strengthen their party early.

I 1k'd the game the week it came out. I have not purchased any of this dlc, and probably won't until the Lightning story dlc. That being said, I'm not going to piss and moan about dlc that affects me in no way. Hell, it doesn't even affect your completion percentage...so why all the hate?

@#8 - I thought it was implied that everyone who thinks it is dumb and said "I'm not buying this" wasn't buying it?

This (and costumes) is useless DLC to anyone who hasn't completed the game. We're just discussing the topic at hand.

@#22 - You don't have to buy a new Pokemon when Nintendo releases one, though. You just download it to your game from home, an event or a store. For free.

I understand where you're coming from, but why would someone spend money on a single character, especially if there's nothing to do with them? If you're going to spend money on something, you should be getting use out of it. Spending $3 for something to just sit there is a waste.

And the only people "forced" to buy DLC with achievements are people that are crazy. This DLC isn't useful regardless how you try to look at it (unless you haven't completed the game). If they release DLC with achievements, it will probably be something with content. If not, then it's just a waste where someone is essentially buying achievements, which I find absurd.

As for your comment on Borderlands what are you even talking about?

The achievements? Nobody said anything about doing achievements right or wrong. The DLC is packed with content, are enjoyable if you like the game, and add new stuff. The achievements are irrelevant to whether the DLC is done right or wrong. They're not suddenly "badly done DLC" because an achievement or two require grinding. Don't want to grind? Don't do it. You can't complain about something you forced yourself to do for a couple of points so you can have a full green bar under the title.

I already 100% everything in this game (Achievements, Leveling Up, and have strong weapons.) No point of buying this, until the price drops... maybe.

I've played and enjoyed every FF since the NEW days and this is the first one that I've put on hold because I didn't have the time to sit down with it much. That said, even though these characters COULD beneift me since I will be starting from scratch, it still seems very nickel and dime-ish. Relase a 800 msp side story and slap 100-250 gamerscore and make everyone happy.
