Soul Calibur V is getting a free title update on March 21st, Namco Bandai has announced.

Based on fan feedback, the update brings character balancing for the entire roster, alongside a range of gameplay tweaks. It also optimises ranked online game searches.

The title update will be followed by the game's first proper DLC starting in April. Expect monthly costume packs to use in the game’s Creation Mode. The first of these hits XBLA on 3rd April.

Meanwhile, Namco Bandai is hosting the Soul Calibur V world finals in Las Vegas on 10th April, with a total cash prize fund of $10,000. To get there, competitors will have to battle European, Russian, Australian, Taiwanese and Singapore... ian gamers in the SoulCalibur Impact 2012 tournament, the grand finals of which take place this Saturday, 17th March in London.

The event will be streamed online.

Nice, thought about trading it in, but I held onto it. Hopefully this is a plus.

That's very quick for a user based feedback update. Normally it takes months.

Or not at all.

I think you mean the DLC is coming to XBL, not XBLA.

They won't add achievements to costume packs. Getting 20G for putting on a jacket. Don't think so! :P

SCV was rather solid and fun! What sort of DLC is headed our way, is it -only- more character customization stuff? Be nice to see more character combat sets or maybe a story mode that isn't garbage.

Custom characters are worthless to me. Unless they bring back the alternate weapon styles from 3 there's just no point. That's the DLC I want. Why do I want to make some loser that has Mitsurugi's move set? If I want to use Mitsurugi, I'll use Mitsurugi.
