With Sky continuing its mission to remove all sports from terrestrial television, taking Formula One as its latest acquisition, F1 2012 might be your only chance to enjoy some F1 racing action this season. Codemasters have today revealed that F1 2012 will be coming in September as usual, boasting a new Young Driver Test mode as its headline addition.

The aim is to introduce players to the world of Formula One through a series of tutorials, taking you closer to the F1 experience by explaining how to handle a responsive and super-fast F1 car, earning yourself a drive with an official F1 team if you prove good enough to make the grade.

To coincide with the unveiling of the Young Driver Test mode, F1 2012 Creative Director, Stephen Hood took to the garages at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi to chat with up and coming young drivers, asking them how playing the game has had an impact on their real-life driving and their understanding of the tracks. You can check out the trailer below.

This weekend sees the 2012 FIA Formula One World Championship getting underway in Melbourne. F1 2012 will be releasing in September 2012, with all of the official drivers, liveries and circuits, including the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, and the return of Germany's famous Hockenheim circuit.

Fanatstic! The last ones were great games. Hopefully there is more than just one new feature and new driver lists and livery though.

Great news sounds interesting, I just wish the release could synced along with the new F1 season, possibly adding a live function to it and challenges from the real world..

It looks like Codemasters have dropped GFWL, so no gamerscore love for those playing on PC. T4RG4 = Steve Hood.

I'd like better netcode this year, too many times people will ghost due to latency, causing problems. The safety car was a nightmare, both offline and online, so hopefully they take some time to sort that out. The bugs for 2011 were a pain, especially the one where the AI could use inters the whole race. They fixed that but others remain. I still love the game, but it could definitely use some improvement.

BBC will be broadcasting a few events, but Sky really screwed F1 Fans. I may live in the US, but I used to dload the BBC Practice & Quali coverage because they were soooo much better.

F1 on sky is a disgraceTaffaroo your an idiot. F1 was pefectly fine on BBC. Sky and bernie just ROBBERS. They havnt made f1 better at all. I bet it will lose loads of viewers coz they won't and shouldn't pay for it or simply can't afford it. I cancelled my sky when I found out I would have to pay an xtra £10 a month to watch it when sky already got plenty off me well not anymore. Scandless
