So, if you took a chance and downloaded the RPG arcade game and enjoyed the humor or have been a fan for a long time, here's a chance to own a bit of it. This collects every strip of their online comic from 2004 and though these are still available for viewing at their website, it's nice to have something you enjoy in your hands. A lot of people wish comics were digital-only and I imagine I would stop reading them all together if that were the case. Anyway, here's the official description from Dark Horse Comics:

"Join us, intrepid explorers, as we journey once again into the depths of the Penny Arcade archives, facing eldritch curses and monstrous perils aplenty in our quest to unearth the ancient treasures of the year 2004 A.D.!

Marvel at the mysteries laid bare within, at these tales of epic gaming, appliances gone bad, line-dancing blood feuds, and so much more! Face, if you dare, the ominous foreboding of
The Last Christmas, the challenging depths of Twisp and Catsby, and the poignant tragedy of The Wandering Age!"

* Includes every strip posted on penny-arcade.com during 2004, a treasure trove of bonus material, and creator commentary by writer Jerry Holkins!

* Special foreword by actor, writer, and blogger extraordinaire Wil Wheaton!

This will be available this wednesday for $12.95, 136 pages worth of material.

  • i played the trial of the xbla game didnt really interest me though
  • I didn't like the first on that much it took ages to get into it tbh.
  • 3rd 4th or 5th
  • ^^^ What he said!
  • It's for their comic strip...and has nothing to do with the recent arcade game... that's what i thought at first too, what happened to volume 2-4...ha
  • Best part of the books is it includes commentary from Tycho. For the price, I love these collections but then again, I'm a fanboy. Takes an awful lot for me to *not* like a webcomic. ::Glares at Ctrl-Alt-Delete::
  • i thought it was there next arcade game. how stupid of me...
  • i'm into comics but i find there jokes to be stupid and unoriginal
  • i thought this was the next game as well.
  • if its as pricey as the last one i wont be looking into it
  • do you people read?
  • I'm not referring to the people that realized this wasnt episode 2 btw.
  • People actually read these unfunny comics?
  • yeah.. i've read them and they aren't funny at all.
  • CtrlAltDel is hell funny. Penny Arcade fails.
  • Uhm... Okay. What does a collection of webcomics put into book form have to with Xbox 360? That is what this site is for still, right? Xbox 360 games and achievements? It didn't turn in a Penny Arcade fansite overnight and nobody told me? If I'm right and it didn't change, why the hell is this in the news? It has nothing to do with their game, it's just a collection of 3-4 year old comics.
  • I think Penny-Arcade is quite fun, actually. I get a lot of the old references, though. I can understand why the youngblood doesn't like it.
  • @lordvader178 You read the latest comic, right? Boy, wasn't that a barrel of laughs? That Buckley fellow sure is funny! Protip: Read the first panel of the very first comic, and then the last panel of the very last comic.
  • @ Software2 Thank you for bringing me back to ctrlaltdel for the latest comic... I used to read that strip religiously, and now I'm sad that I stopped. I really like what Buckley did. In any case, people hating on this because it's a PA book and not a game or something.... what the hell's your deal. You need to calm down with the flamethrower. Seriously.
