Kinect Star Wars’ “Galactic Dance-Off” has been the talking point and the centre of controversy for quite sometime. Die-hard Star Wars fans argue that seeing Hans Solo and co. dance to remixed real-world songs is George Lucas selling the franchise out. Selling his soul, so to speak.
Our view? We bloody love it. The Galactic Dance-Off – as pointed out in our review – is the shining light of an otherwise bleak title and the effort gone into this mode is impressive. With 15 songs, Star Wars named dance moves and even reworked lyrics, we have to say we’re huge fans of the mode.
Don’t like it? Think it’s a disgrace to the Star Wars universe? Well, we’ve got four words: it’s only a game. That, and George Lucas sold out a long time ago.
For your viewing pleasure this morning, we have 8 of the tracks from the game – two from each of the different levels – just to see how brilliant and highly hilarious they are. Watching the Emperor pop his collar and get on the dance floor: Priceless. Boba Fett dancing along to a reworked version of YMCA: The stuff of legend.
