Grasshopper Manufacture is set to follow up Lollipop Chainsaw with the second game in its partnership with Kadokawa Games entitled 'Killer is Dead', weekly Famitsu [via Sinobi] has revealed. But it's not a sequel to Suda 51's nutty Killer 7, despite the title suggesting the possibility that it could be.

Instead, in this original Suda 51-directed game, you play as a prisoner who is sentenced to death and must kill his own assassin before he has the chance to commit your execution. Apparently, Killer is Dead will be in the spirit of Suda's past efforts, Killer 7 and No More Heroes, promising to be a "dark side 007" with beautiful Bond-like ladies.

Early reports indicate that Killer is Dead's gameplay will feature some No More Heroes-style swordplay, albeit with some new elements of its own thrown in. Killer is Dead is due for release sometime in 2013.

And I was so hoping for a Killer7-based game! XS

I still can't wait to see more about this, though. 'Dark-side 007' sounds intriguing, and I'd like to see the idea outside of GoldenEye: Rogue Agent.

Suda 51 and Grasshopper seem to be the only ones with any balls these days, deciding to take chances on new IPs and throw in a little originality and quirkiness. Loved Shadows of the Damned and looking forward to Lollipop Chainsaw. Hoping Diabolical Pitch is good as well.

Sounds like the Suda game I've been waiting for. Shadows of the Damned was great, and I'm sure Lollipop Chainsaw will be a load of fun, but I've been wanting a return to his roots for awhile now, and this sounds like it to me. Day one purchase, just like everything else with Grasshopper's name on it.

I've been a big fan of his since Killer7. I'd gladly pay for one of his great unique games anyday.

I love his games; I'll probably end up buying this.

I can't wait for Lollipop Chainsaw.
