Metro: Last Light
There'll Be No THQ Booth At E3 2012

Struggling publisher THQ is continuing to make financial cutbacks by opting not have a booth at this year's E3, although the publisher will still be in attendance, albeit in comparatively limited capacity. THQ has had the best booths at E3's gone by, with huge installations that dominate the showfloor, so THQ's absence from the line-up of booths will no doubt be felt.

"We're not producing a booth, but we will be participating in E3. We will be showing games to the E3 judges at their event coming up, and we'll be hosting a press and business center at the show for meetings (as well as participating with first party activities)," THQ told Games Industry International."When we needed to make the decision on the booth (many months ago) we were in a MUCH different place than today. But, we will be there to support our portfolio and the show itself."

Most booths cost in excess of $1 million, so in light of THQ's recent laying off of employees, the decision to cut the booth from E3 makes a lot of sense. Darksiders II, Metro: Last Light and the recently announced Saints Row: The Third - Enter the Dominatrix will all likely still be shown at E3 2012 next month, and we'll be there to bring you the latest previews and so on.

@3 Valve will be there, just not announcing anything other than the stuff we already know about.

They're only at the E3 to announce more delays, no doubt :)

It's understandable why they wouldn't have a booth. I'm glad they are turning up though.

Its too bad, it almost seems inevitable that THQ is going to close at this point, maybe not soon although. They made alot of my favorite childhood games and its going to be sad to see them go. But hopefully if Metro, Darksiders, and the new Saints row project go well they can stay open and thrive. I really hope they can stay alive. :*(

E3 is often a pointless and expensive experience for mid-tier publishers these days. Unless you're EA, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft, your big announcements and coverage usually get overshadowed (Acti don't count, they only really do COD these days). Wise move in all honesty. They're there, but they're not wasting money on showfloor space.

Let's be honest, all they're known for are the MMA/UFC/WWE games. And those aren't triple A titles so no surprise there.

Isn't E3 still closed to the public? I always find it funny when they announce a big game on E3 how the crowd sits there like drones with like one or two people :p
OT: So no new announcements from THQ or Valve, I can live. For a million dollars a booth can't say I'd blame them for not. plus between and whats the point in watching E3? You guys got us covered everyday anyway! :D

This is like the 2nd or 3rd major studio I've seen say there not doing anything for E3 they might as well pull a Blizzcon and just not have E3 this year at this rate.

The company are in denial. They delayed Darksiders II because of money issues, not because of whatever excuse they fed the public.

Good riddance. Hope they realise what they are doing to the games they work with and stop the nonsense.

Bit of a shame really. I was hoping to see how South Park was doing.
Anyway, all this Valve "Won't be showing anything new" stuff, I feel is a distraction. This is Gabe people, the troll master of the multiverse.

I hope the Take-Two dude that said that THQ would close by the end of the year is still wrong. They have so many games coming that I'm excited about.

THQ needs to pull through & cut the bullshit. They are an awesome studio, but all these licensing contracts need to end. They need to work on old IPs & generate some new ones.

Let's just hope EA doesn't buy them over...

inSANE (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Windows)
Devil's Third (PlayStation 3, Wii U, Xbox 360)

Metro: Last Light (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Windows)
Homefront 2 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Windows)

#1 Well no Saints Row 4 will release very sooner since they released 3rd series last year and some DLCs this year so I want Saints Row 4 come out 3 or 4 years later because then devs can take time their next series. No rush to get next series. Also Volition, Inc is in working on inSANE and will release in 2013 so that their next title in developing. :)

Who cares. We know Darksiders2 and Metro 2 are coming this year, so it's better they pupt resources towards making those games as great as they can be rather then spending unnecessary money on advertisement. Games like that need no introduction in gaming world=)
