There'll Be No THQ Booth At E3 2012

Struggling publisher THQ is continuing to make financial cutbacks by opting not have a booth at this year's E3, although the publisher will still be in attendance, albeit in comparatively limited capacity. THQ has had the best booths at E3's gone by, with huge installations that dominate the showfloor, so THQ's absence from the line-up of booths will no doubt be felt.
"We're not producing a booth, but we will be participating in E3. We will be showing games to the E3 judges at their event coming up, and we'll be hosting a press and business center at the show for meetings (as well as participating with first party activities)," THQ told Games Industry International."When we needed to make the decision on the booth (many months ago) we were in a MUCH different place than today. But, we will be there to support our portfolio and the show itself."
Most booths cost in excess of $1 million, so in light of THQ's recent laying off of employees, the decision to cut the booth from E3 makes a lot of sense. Darksiders II, Metro: Last Light and the recently announced Saints Row: The Third - Enter the Dominatrix will all likely still be shown at E3 2012 next month, and we'll be there to bring you the latest previews and so on.
