Typical. You wait for one Serious Sam game, then two come along at once. And with Serious Sam 3: BFE finally showing some signs of life last week, Devolver Digital, Mastertronic, Croteam and Mommy's Best Games have announced that the autumn release of that game will be joined by another Serious Sam title called Serious Sam Double D XXL. Honest.
While Croteam will work to bring Serious Sam 3: BFE to the Xbox Live Arcade, Mommy's Best Games is developing the 2D scrolling counterpart, Serious Sam Double D XXL, which is a revamped version of last year's indie PC hit with all-new missions and a 2-player co-op campaign mode on top of the original game's 18 campaign lavels and 12 challenge maps. There'll also be new enemies, new Gunstacker upgrades and new challenges.
"Xbox Live Arcade gamers are going to get so much insane Serious Sam action this summer it’s going to make their televisions bleed," said Fork Parker, CFO of Devolver Digital. "Call the paramedics, homey. Your flat screen TV just took another headshot from Serious Sam."
OK then. Serious Sam 3: BFE and Serious Sam Double D XXL will both be launching on the Xbox Live Arcade this autumn. Or 'fall' if you prefer.
