Konami has revealed the Japanese release date for Zone of the Enders HD Collection, as well as a Japan-only (hopefully only for now) special premium edition, that bundles the two game collection with a bunch of desirable ZOE collectibles. Of course, you'll have to pay a premium price for it. Where the standard version retails for ¥3,980 (it'll cost ¥3,480 to download when it hits Games on Demand), the premium version will cost ¥8,980.
The Zone of the Enders HD Collection brings together the first Z.O.E. and sequel Anubis, known in the west as Zone of the Enders and ZOE: The 2nd Runner, and bumps up the visuals to 720p HD, the frame rate from 30fps to 60fps and adds new HD assets, as well as improved audio quality.
Releasing in Japan in late October, the Zone of the Enders HD Collection will launch as a standard retail release, a Premium Edition or Konami Style Premium Edition.
The latter two premium editions are bundled in a special box with the ZOE reBOOT Edition remix CD, two booklets, the Chronicle Book with recreations of booklets from the 2001 and 2003 releases, and the ReBOOT Book that includes dialogues between Hideo Kojima and art director Yoji Shinkawa, as well as a look behind the scenes at the HD remake's development. The Konami Style version includes additional collectibles for an extra ¥1000.
Check out both Japanese special editions in the images below. Zone of the Enders HD Collection is out on October 25th in Japan, which hopefully means similar dates for the western release. Fingers crossed for the special editions overseas too, eh?
