Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction
Is Splinter Cell: Blacklist Heading for E3?

‘Tis the season of E3 leaks and excitement spoilers, folks, and this is a good ‘un. According to the latest reports, Ubisoft is set to announce Splinter Cell: Blacklist at E3 next week. There’s some details on the game too.

Likely to be the first proper title from Jade Redmond’s Ubisoft Toronto studio, Blacklist will reportedly take place after the events of 2010’s Conviction.

Despite this, however, protagonist Sam Fisher will no longer be sporting the pepper pot grey hair look. The source says he’s “looking good as always with no grey hair,” adding that he is wearing a “full body suit, and his mighty night goggles.”

Apparently, the story will focus on a set of enemies targeted by Sam on his blacklist, hence the name. The source also mentions that a special edition of the game is being prepared too, but that’s hardly a shock.

I bet you can guess what I’m going to say now? Expect more at E3 next week! Splinter Cell 6 is on our most anticipated announcements, don’t ya know.

Ubisoft - I'm the kind of spy who's gonna spill blood all over your Andretti if you don't tell me what I want to know!

Sounds like Fisher's been taking successful with the Just For Men products. I'm hyped for this to be announced so I can get ready for more stealthy co-op action!

@6 Yes it is, and yes it is. The game announcement is a rumour, obviously there are no official screenshots yet.

Conviction was a good game with the exception of the new single mode high-tec sonar goggles being worse than his old Triple-mode NV/Thermal/EM ones ;)

More like Splinter Cell: Badlist. I kid I kid, just couldn't resist. Guess it has been some time since a new SC game came out.

They need to get this one right. They threw too much away from previous games. I wouldn't mind a Splinter Cell Chronicles game, with Conviction-type gameplay alternating with classic style in flash-backs.

The last SC was IMO one of the best games I played to date on the 360. I just love the take downs :)

Rented Conviction, and thought the story was pretty great. Co-op was really fun, except for Last Stand mode. Definitely interested in this.

Double Agent and Conviction were easily two of the funnest games I've played, I'll be looking forward to another Splinter Cell title!

I want this to be more like the original 3 games. I thought Conviction was quite poor, too easy, rubbish AI and a bit boring. I prefer the pure sneakyness and espionage of the original trilogy.

@15 I agree with you. Shame they didn't put the original and/or Pandora Tomorrow when Microsoft started their 'Xbox Originals' service. I'd love to play Pandora Tomorrow again.

Conviction was a great 360 game, but it wasn't a good Splinter Cell game. For a series that, for a while, was the go-to game for the stealth genre (on consoles), it really let itself down with Conviction. Not to take anything away from it, coz I loved every second, the stealth was just toned down to an appalling level, and it was WAY too easy.

Awesome news I love the splinter cell series. Hopefully it's coming out within the next two years, and hopefully they don't push the game back like 50 times this time around. Can't wait for E3 should be exciting.

I don't care about where they take the single player campaign but I'd give a kidney for them to bring back a revamped Chaos Theory multiplayer. Nothing has ever came close to comparing to it for me!

@ 25 Miss Fortune

I loved Chaos Theory MP. Was so much fun sneaking up on people and talking to them through the headset. Had some good times with that one.

Nothing has come close since!

Can't wait. Loved Conviction but the originals and Double Agent for Xbox and I have a couple kids together, I love them so much. Anyway, I hope this is legit and I may have to cancel my AC3 preorder in favor of this

@ 26 Cinderkin.

I was strictly a story player only so for me the best bit was being down to your last life, your teammate is out of lives and the last objective is at 90% with only 1 minute left on the clock. Truly epic.

Sadly it seems that opinions like ours are few and far between these days.

I thought it was funny how a lot of people complained originally when Conviction came out but the whole I'm gonna mess a whole lot of people up really quickly was awesome...save for the "win" button once you got the five-seven

I've been a huge fan of the series since the first one came out, and I have played all of them a lot of times (i'm still playing the original 3 for xbox, right now i'm playing chaos theory), the kind of game play they used to give us was great.

When conviction came out it was like a kick in the balls to all the fans out there, it's a good game but not a splinter cell game, it was a completely different kind of game.

I just hope they'll turn around to the roots that made splinter cell one of the best series ever made
