Lost Planet 3
E3 2012: Lost Planet 3 Trailer and Screens are Mechtastic, Late

Earlier this week at E3, Capcom released a trailer and a bunch of new screens for their upcoming shooter sequel, Lost Planet 3.

Earlier this week at E3, we got buried under an avalanche of assets and completely missed it. Sorry.

It’s worth the wait though. It's got some really relaxed, naturalistic dialogue that's brilliant because it helps the trailer build from relaxed character stuff to a big old WRRRYYYAWWLLL climax. Most trailers go in screaming.

Lost Planet 3 is shaping up to be pretty damn good then. Rich previewed it recently and reckons “we could be in for something of a bug-hunting treat.” Sounds good to me.

Have a look at the trailer and some screens below. There’s more in the gallery. Lost Planet 3 is out in early 2013, just like every other blummin’ game.

I was watching a livestream on Capcom Unity the other day, and they have pretty much said goodbye to the grappling hook. It still remains, but not to the extent of previous games.

Also, it has QTE's that are apparently a new and exciting form of QTE. I know that'll upset a lot of people who used to love the series.

Also, multiplayer customisation has been toned down a LOT.

For me, all of the above made Lost Planet great. Zipping around with the grapple, doing full circle spins around bridges, making your character look like a freak and kicking ass online. Not really sure if I want this as much as I did when it was first announced.

You can gripe about it coming early 2013 like so many other games besides Lost Planet 3, including Crysis 3, Dead Space 3, and Bioshock Infinite. But something sets all these games apart. THEIR DEVS CAN ACTUALLY COUNT TO 3. (dammit Valve)

Hey Capcom, why don't you remove everything unique and innovative about the Lost Planet franchise; hand the I.P. over to a development house run by monkeys; and churn out another generic, 'me-too' shooter. It wouldn't be so offensive if the game bore a different title. Looks like the only Lost Planet love we get will be in the form of E.X. Troopers.

People actually enjoyed the first two? I'm legitimately shocked.

Looks more like Dead Space than Lost Planet. Not that that's a bad thing...

Looks different, loved the first two but this actually looks like it will be pretty good. But my standard of good included the first two, which not that many people liked.

hopefully they learned their lesson with the LP2 achievements. LOL, I cancelled my preorder after seeing how stupid those were.

@15 You cancelled your pre-order, because of achievements?

Nice to see true gamers on here, giving real opinions, on things that matter.....ffs.

Boooo! The first 2 lost planet games were something special, there was nothing else like them. Now it's just another generic survival shooter...

I like the first game but the second felt soulless. I really wanted to like it, hopefully this one is redeeming but I don't have tons of faith right now.
