BioWare has finally dated the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC and best of all, it’s coming next week. The free DLC is set to answer a few unanswered questions about the game’s ending in a bid to give players more closure.
According to a post on the BioWare blog, players can download the Extended Cut DLC on June 26th – yes, that’s next Tuesday.
The 1.9GB update delivers additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes that is set to give a “deeper insight to Commander Shepard’s journey based on player choices during the war against the Reapers.”
It is also said to give “a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings.”
Potential spoiler here, so you’re warned… but in order to get the most out of the DLC, BioWare recommends you load a save before the attack on the Cerberus Base and play through till the end of the game from there. BioWare notes that the endings don’t change, they’re just fleshed out and they will differ depending on choices made throughout the entire Mass Effect series, noting that “multiple playthroughs with a variety of different decisions will be required to experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content.”
So there you have it, you’ll be able to experience the new Mass Effect 3 fully fleshed out endings next week, for free too! Batten down the hatches, we’re going to save Earth… again!
