Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is now up on the Xbox Live Marketplace, meaning that the disgruntled Mass Effect fans among you can finally (hopefully) get the closure you've always wanted from Commander Shepard's saga, with a host of additional cutscenes that supposedly wrap up the game in a more satisfying fashion.
These new epilogue sequences that make up the 1.85GB download will apparently lend a "deeper insight to Commander Shepard’s journey based on player choices during the war against the Reapers." The Extended Cut will also give "a sense of what the future holds as a result of the decisions made throughout the series. And it shows greater detail in the successes or failures based on how players achieved their endings."
SPOILER ALERT: BioWare recommends loading a save prior to the attack on the Cerberus Base to get the best results from the Extended Cut DLC, noting that you'll need to play through the closing stages multiple times to fully "experience the variety of possibilities offered by the new content."
There you have it then. Closure. Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut is out now and can be downloaded for free. You can add it to your download queue here.
