Atari's leading franchise Deer Hunter is set to appear in autumn of this year, a press release stated today.
Pegged as "the biggest hunting game franchise of all time", the virtual hunting sim will be launching on both PC, and the Xbox 360.
For the first time in the series, the 2008 installment will feature fully supported online hunting tournaments over Xbox live, which will be "constantly updated".
Other game features included fully developed real-life locales, intricate hunting strategies, bullet time, and smart animal-AI behavior.
Jim Wilson, CEO of Atari, INC had this to say:
"Deer Hunter Tournament is poised to reinforce its place as the ultimate hunting video game franchise and we anticipate an even broader audience through our expansion of the brand to Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE."
"We are confident that this new edition with its first-ever online multiplayer tournament game-play, enhanced artwork and mechanics, exotic game and locales will provide fans with the ultimate in realistic hunting experiences."
More information will be available nearer the time, but prices for the 360 version are expected to be around $39.95.
