It's all been rather quiet where Doom 4 and a potential follow-up to Rage is concerned, but id Software's Studio Director, Tim Willits has been talking about possible announcements that could be on the cards in the near future. Talking about Doom 4, Willits addressed the remake of Doom 3 for the BFG Edition and whether it'll be a stepping stone towards the next instalment of the hellish FPS.
"I can't say for sure, but if we were, it would be a great time to do this," said Willits regarding the impending release of Doom 3: BFG Edition. "Yes, and again, everyone's heard of Doom but not everyone's played the entire catalogue. This is priced well, it's got a lot of great content, we have new content, and really the response has been great. I'm excited for it."
As well as Doom 4, a Rage sequel is also potentially on id's radar too. The studio hasn't forgotten about the game anyway, which is a start. "We have a few things that we may announce soon, but I'm not sure. We haven't forgotten about the title, and as soon as we have more news, we will definitely announce it," Willits told GameReactor.
Doom 4 and Rage 2? Now that would be id Software really spoiling us. Of course for now, it's all just pie in the sky, but it's a step in the right direction, right? Here's an old leaked Doom 4 screenshot for you to look at.
