CBS Films has snagged the rights to turn Deus Ex: Human Revolution into a movie, based specifically upon Eidos Montreal's 2011 reboot. Accordingly, Eidos Montreal will work closely with CBS Films in adapting the game, presumably to get the 'Renaissance Noir' look just right.
"As the millions of fans who have played the Deus Ex games for more than a decade will tell you, these games catapult you into a universe that is stimulating, engaging and relevant," said Square Enix Europe President and CEO, Phil Rogers. "We're firm believers in building strong partnerships, and so we're thrilled to be working with CBS Films on bringing the unique Deus Ex experience to the big-screen."
Roy Lee, Executive Producer on Martin Scorcese's The Departed and Adrian Askarieh - who also acted as producer on the Hitman movie and is on board as producer on the Kane & Lynch film - are both linked to the Deus Ex movie as producers, while CBS and Eidos Montreal will oversee the project.
Who will fill the augmented boots of Adam Jensen however, is currently anyone's guess. Who do you think should assume the lead role?
