Activision Considering New Tony Hawk Title

Thanks to the strong performance of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, we may see another, bigger game in the series.
That’s according to Josh Tsui, CEO of Robomodo. Apparently, Tony Hawk HD was made to gauge public desire for a full game. Following 120,000 downloads of the retro refit, that might now be on the cards.
"By making [Tony Hawk’s HD] 'lower risk' we were allowed to take some chances, which benefits both developer and publisher," said Tsui. As a result of the game’s relative success, "the prospect of a fuller game is definitely on the table -- it's just a matter of when and how."
It’s worth noting, however, that despite those strong early sales, the reviews for the game were less than favourable. Indeed, in Tsui’s words they were "quite vicious." He explained that, "the tricky thing about this game specifically is that it plays to childhood or teen memories and those memories can be very subjective."
“We kept the mechanics the same even though they were 13-years-old because that was our number one priority. Had we changed it up and modernized it, we would have gotten the same criticism from the other side."
Despite this, Tsui says that "for now Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is a very good way to reacquaint people to the franchise," and that a reboot of the Tony Hawk series is definitely being discussed.
