SEGA has today lifted the lid on the Sonic & All-Stars: Transformed Bonus Edition, which is available to pre-order and comes with a couple of bonus in-game goodies in the shape of an extra track and character, as well as additional time trials and challenges to go with the bonus track.

The bonus track in question is the OutRun Bay circuit from SEGA's iconic arcade racer, featuring those classic azure oceans and open roads to speed across, while appreciating the traditional perfect blue SEGA skies. You'll also get Metal Sonic as an extra character in the Bonus Edition, with his prototype levitation craft designed for racing. Obviously.

In addition to the Metal Sonic Mod Pack, there'll also be an Emoticon Sticker Pack in the Bonus Edition, giving you a bunch of the collectables that are found throughout the game and given as rewards for achieving skilful play, high scores and so on.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed is out on November 16th in Europe and November 20th in North America. Check out the Bonus Edition cover artwork below.

@1 I don't think the Banjo characters are in this one, but the Wreck It Ralph character from the Disney movie is supposed to be in it.

This game looks sweet. I have the first one on Wii and it's crazy fun.

Love the box art. When it comes to driving on the road why doesn't Sonic just run instead of using a car ? same with Shadow ?

@11 Thank you very much. Until you pointed out, I hadn't noticed the similarity between the two games. You sir, are a genius.

To further utilise your powers of deduction, I suggest you open up a detective agency immediately.

@1 Banjo was only in the game because rare was going to do an Banjo-Kazooie Racing game but it was cancelled, thats the beta car that we have in the SASR they gave them the sprites for it, becaus MS was interested in the game at all, and even in this new one they are having some interest, diferentlly from Sony and Nintendo which have their own kart racing games.

I thought most people (besides me) hate collectibles. Now they're adding more as "bonuses" for special edition copies of the game? =P

I really hope Banjo and Kazooie come back! Either way, I'm still interested in this edition. Hope it's nothing too pricey though, as it doesn't sound like too much stuff for a hefty price tag.

@6 That'd be interesting to see! I don't know about anybody else, but I'm really looking forward to that movie, so I think he'd be a pretty cool addition to the character roster!
