So, Call of Duty: Elite is a hit. The social and competitive hub cooked up by Activision for Call of Duty fans has more than 12 million users, 2.3 million of which pay for the premium service.
Meanwhile, straight-up DLC sales for the series are down, falling short of previous years. Despite this, Elite will continue to be optimized to meet consumer expectations. Whatever that means.
The news comes via the publisher’s annual financial report, which also went on to discuss Black Ops 2. CEO Eric Hirshberg said the game has “several innovations and firsts for the franchise” and boasts pre-orders in excess of Modern Warfare 3. He also said it will have the “biggest and best zombie experience ever.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is out on November 13th, 2012.
