Dance Central 3 features a crew of time traveling detectives who investigate dance crimes.

I’m just going to continue to write this story without reflecting on its UTTER INSANITY because my mind may melt otherwise. Hope you're Ok with that.

The crew, called Dance Central Intelligence (DCI), feature in the Story Mode of Dance Central 3, travelling from era to era in order learn new moves and save the world from oh God I don't know just read the press release.

“Prepare for time travel in the newly revealed Story mode of Dance Central 3," says the blurb. "Played solo or with a friend, players will join the ranks of Dance Central Intelligence (DCI) to uncover a plot to destroy Dance Central and journey through time to learn iconic dance moves from the ‘70s, ‘80s, ‘90s, ‘00s and beyond.”

“Can you help the DCI crew master classic crazes like The Hustle, The Electric Slide and more? Unlock power moves, decode dance crazes from across the eras and travel through time to save the world…all while interacting with the great personalities and unparalleled choreography that define the Dance Central experience.”

There’s a trailer below too, with all this bonkers nonsense outlined by actual humans.

Oh, and in addition to this, Microsoft has also announced nine new songs for the game. They are:

  • Afrojack ft. Eva Simons – “Take Over Control”
  • Alexandra Stan – “Mr. Saxobeat”
  • Ciara ft. Missy Elliott – “1, 2 Step"
  • Cupid – “Cupid Shuffle”
  • Daft Punk – “Around The World”
  • Dev ft. The Cataracts – “Bass Down Low”
  • Enur ft. Natasja – “Calabria 2008”
  • Martin Solveig ft. Dragonette – “Hello”

I cant believe this series is on no.3 already!! Me and my friends played the first game demo for about 10 minutes, laughed at whoever was brave enough to have a go, then abruptly switched back to battlefield... who plays these games??

Real men play Dance Central. And not sit on their butts all day playing BF or CoD.

i liked the first one. danced for 8hrs a day a month straight. then they lost me with DC2. mostly because the music didnt include my generation enough for me to buy it. i love the 80s music! so they need to put tracks in that appeal to a more wider audience.

Just Dance is on their 6th game at least and they are truly horrible. The people wo play this probably are tired of shooters, want to dance to music, and or have a party game.

lol the decades look pretty goofy. Was there a lot of farting in the 80s? The 80s and 90s look awful. It is nice to have some kind of story available. This is an improvement over DC2 in that now the track list isn't as random.

I hope there's a part in this where you go back to 1939 Germany and have a dance contest against Hitler for the fate of the world. Otherwise it's just a missed opportunity.

Shit, I have to get off my fat ass and finish up Dance Central 1. On the plus side, I save money on games. On the negative side, I'm still a fat fuck.

well ... since they're putting in line dances (electric slide, cupid shuffle) how about rednex - "cotton eye joe"? or dj casper - "cha cha slide"? they could be fun in a timey-wimey setting
