BOOOO!!!Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 07:44 AM
Never understood people's fascination with this game......Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 07:47 AM
I'd love to see where Counter Strike falls. All these years and MW2 is still up there.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 07:47 AM
Good to see people are putting the time into paying dust. Fantastic title.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 07:49 AM
It has MW3 in the title... Quick ! Sound the troll bell !Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 07:58 AM
why the hell is this happening more and more that we get the demo AFTER the game has come out surely the point of a demo is to try it before you buy it =SThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 07:59 AM
I dont want to live on this planet anymoreThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:00 AM
Just in case no one has ever played or heard of COD get the demo. I imagine that would be all of 2 people.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:04 AM
anyone got counter strike yet? i want to know if its as good as people are boasting coz im really thinking about getting it also whats the point in a demo 12 months after release? thats just patheticThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:07 AM
Da hell Max Payne 3 didn't even make the listThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:07 AM
I still haven;t played mw3 :s I won a 1 year elite sub code today so i might just get a loan of it from a friendThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:09 AM
@6 "surely the point is to try it before you buy it" Well, maybe we aren't all as economically flexible as you and haven't bought the game on release day? Sleeping Dogs hasn't been out for even a WEEK and people complain the demo is late? I'd rather have a demo of a finished game than a game that might change before it's released. If a demo comes out before the game, it's normally a multiplayer beta or for a game that is getting mediocre previews or doesn't have a large amount of advertisement. The idea with this demo is to appeal to a market of gamers on a budget, who can't afford to fork out £40 every couple of weeks. If I wanted to now pick up a copy of MW3, I could probably go and pick it up for £20.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:12 AM
@6 Well the demo is late be more logical to release a demo before the actual game got releasedThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:46 AM
a demo at this stage = FAILThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:49 AM
Not the first time they releasing a demo of a game thats been out for more then a year or so, i agree demo,s should be out to give gamers an impression how the game is like, even if its still work in progress, besides its always clearly stated in each early demo this this is still work in progress and not represents the final product ;) So i don,t get the fuzz ppl making about an unfinished product. As goes for the guy asking about Counter Strike Go as its called downloaded the trail version (gives you 45 mins of playtime) its def not bad and for all those older gamers that still remember good old counter strike on PC when its first released its def not bad, now its kinda still okay with better graphics and stuff but with a bulk of MP games out there not sure it will hit the mark.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:51 AM
all of the last 5 CoD games in the top 20?!..... what a world.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:53 AM
Been playing a tone of Reach, you should tooThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:54 AM
ton, ton okayThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 08:54 AM
Still blows my mind that the first Modern Warfare is still in the top 20. You wonder all the great second tier games that never had a shot because people are still playing a 5 year old Call of Duty game. No one would be playing Madden 08 right now would they (if the servers were not down)? I hope someday people will expand their boundaries, because there are some truly great games out there that people should play.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:01 AM
5 Call of Duty games in the top 20, really.... Geeezz people, better games out there!Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:02 AM
I think Activision miss the concept of "Demo's" the idea is to release a demo *BEFORE* the game comes out to let possible consumers try out the product and decide whether they want to buy it on release. WORST. VIDEO GAME PUBLISHER. EVER.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:02 AM
Woohoo! Halo 3 is played even more than CoD 4. Made my day. That, and the Halo 4 achievements are up.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:07 AM
@12 Demos SHOULD come out before the game does. Try before you buy it is right. Games are usually done one or even two months before the release date so a demo that comes out two weeks before a release date is the same thing as the finished game. Game companies are greedy, they are afraid people won't like their game so they wait months after it's release to put out a demo.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:15 AM
Cod will always be in the top 20 because there are too many casuals who play it who have no idea what they're playing. They don't understand quality, they just play whatever is advertised to them -_-Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:19 AM
@10: Figures, cause it's shit.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:39 AM
@4 bought it this morning,loving it so farThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:46 AM
@25 the hell it is max payne 3 is awesome the sp anyway i dont rly like the mpThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:49 AM
Was anyone else surprised The Walking Dead was that high on the arcade list? Note- I am not complaining, I rather enjoy the game, I am just impressed.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 09:52 AM
Why is Battlefield so low ? I am not here to bash COD I am honestly baffled as to why B3 is not in the top 3.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:02 AM
@21 The Demos for Transformers War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron would like to have a word with you. @23 So you say Activision is afraid that people won't like MW3. They already know many won't like it but many more will still buy it. There really is no need to put a demo up the name alone promises big sales numbers. MW3 may be the most played game on XBL but its sales are declining as with every other game on the market. This is just an attempt to boost the sales.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:08 AM
I wonder how accurate these stats are.....kinda surprised that GOW3 is at #9Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:16 AM
I would really like to know why there is a demo almost a year after the ame comes out? Are the sales not good enough? Do they need more money?Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:16 AM
All i hear from my friends that play COD is how much they can't stand MW3,how it wasn't as good as MW2. Yet, they won't play anything else. Seriously people this is gone on long enough. There is nothing wrong with COD but there are so many GREAT games out there that people flat out refuse to play because it doesn't say Call of Duty on the title. Activision is going to run this series into the ground, the same way they did Tony Hawk, the same way they did Guitar Hero. I actually like COD enough to say that I don't want that to happen.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:22 AM
@9 CS: GO is pretty entertaining so far, but definitely has some lag issues and what not right off the bat. It's not as good as CS 1.6, or CS:S, but it's still almost as good as those.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:23 AM
How are all the latest call of duty's still up in the top 20 But i can't wait to see were sleepings dogs falls in the top chartsThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:29 AM
Both MW1 and WaW are in the top 20? I'm quite surprised by that. Last time I played WaW online, it was filled with nothing but cheaters flying around the maps with god mode on. (And from what I hear, MW1's online is much the same) Not sure why people would still play under those kinds of conditions. Anyway, I don't see much point to a MW3 demo. At this point if you don't own MW3 it's either because you are waiting for a better price or because you know there's no way in hell you plan on touching the game.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:43 AM
Everyone slagging COD off Shut the fuck up! people will play what the fuck they want to play and if they enjoy playing mw2 or mw3 black ops or w.e it's their choice. JUST because you dont like it. and your all like oh rinse and repeat eurgh your opinions dont fucking matter.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:45 AM
oh and about the demo being "late" Star wars the force unleashed came out in 2008 YET no demo until 2010. it doesnt matter.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:48 AM
Why are some people surprised by this. Lol. Wake up people!Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:04 AM
5 CoD games in the top 20. MW3 isn't worthy, but all the others were enjoyable.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:06 AM
Its nice to see I AM ALIVE still in the top 20.must be selling well.I would definatly like to see a sequel or an ad on maybe.The game was quite good.Id call it a survival platformer,maybeThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:06 AM
Only 5 COD games in top 20 LOL And it always seem to me that there is more ppl bithing about them on forums than not. I guess ppl who actually like it are busy playing=)Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:11 AM
Mw3 blowsThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:16 AM
Actually think I'll download the demo. Never had any interest in MW3 and there's no way I'll get it, but a demo'd be fun for 20 minutes.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:22 AM
wow, i see Red Dead Redemption but no Max Payne 3... thats just sad.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:24 AM
Next year you'll all be moaning about Black ops 2. Oh joy...Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:24 AM
Omg another post about how well COD sells! i never see anything about anything about game enhancements like, idk a patch or something that isnt about asking for more money. COD is corny and makes every other game i play seem ALOT better.die COD dieThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:29 AM
If this is Xbox live activity, how is skyrim in there? Unless there is some multiplayer component I haven't discover in 150 hours of gameplay!!Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:31 AM
Bring a demo out before release risks people not liking it and then impacting on day one sales. Bring a demo out shortly afterwards to convince people who didn't buy day one to purchase the product they were on the fence about. Only people mildly interested in the product will try here. And then may even buy. Bring out a demo months or year after a titles release is a last ditch attempt to get people to purchase the game which has now been reduced dramatically at retail and then subsequently people might pick up some of the DLC packs = profit. It makes perfect business sense. Like Activision were doubtful MW3 would sell like gold plated tits. I think not. What's the point in spending extra man hours crafting a demo when you could spend more time on the main title and still rake in the cash? I don't see why companies should be forced to release a demo prior to release. It doesn't particularly make sense if you have a massive hit like Modern Warfare on your hands. There are exceptions to the case of course and some of the big hitters still release demos prior to release, but I don't think it is a gawd given right to be able to 'try before you buy'.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:33 AM
@48 if your connected to xbox live it doesnt matter if the game is MP or SP it still logs the activityThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:40 AM
@50 Thanks - Good, but ultimately useless, knowledge!!! :)Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:40 AM
The demo is for those who were smart enough to realize it wasn't a day one buy.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 12:11 PM
Modern Warfare 2 has more players than Battlefail 3 rofl.. But where the hell is Max Payne 3??Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 12:36 PM
COD games are the most glitched filled out there. It's amazing how many people don't play good games anymore. COD...I used to like you, then came Blacks Ops.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 02:26 PM
2 things about these graphs: How is Castle Crasher still so high? I thought everyone already bought that game by now. How is Fable 3 on there twice for GFWL? That doesn't make sense.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 02:40 PM
@9 Why dont you download the trial version and see for yourself. Also its not been 12 months since it was released either.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 02:45 PM
@11 How did you win that code? o.oThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 04:01 PM
Remember that time when demo's where given out before games so you could test them, or just after release, releasing a demo nearly a year after a titles release is just... well, it's a low ditch attempt at making money, if demo's where given out on release, then we wouldn't have that dam 'free to play' model in any limelight.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 04:28 PM
Sheep love army games!!Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 05:24 PM
I have to say this proves how popular and how many people still play CoD so there yo go. I'm big fan but have gone off it a bit lately, but anyway guys please stop your hate and respect what the game has achieved and move onThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 10:31 PM
Most people buy COD these days because its a cool to do so, not because its a great game, that's why it sells so much. They have mind fucked a lot of people to take part in running around in multiplayer like headless chickens over and over again, and are laughing all the way to the bank. I mean the single player for COD now is completely pathetic apart from the visuals. FYI: You're paying for the brand Call Of Duty not actual game quality that's why they bring out a new one every 6-12 months because a lot of people think it's cool to play COD... ummm no its not kiddies you've been mind fucked.Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:04 PM
The demo is perfect for ppl like me who have a broken disc drive...and no money .. lolThursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:30 PM
Now Call of Duty is fine and all, but 4 Call of Duties in top 20 games? Something is wrong here, go play something else from time to time!Thursday, August 23, 2012 @ 11:40 PM
Oh crap, 5 Call of Duty games. You're kidding me.Friday, August 24, 2012 @ 12:49 AM
@14 u fail with your master g4y chief pictureFriday, August 24, 2012 @ 01:39 AM
How's it going down there BF3?! Crap game.Friday, August 24, 2012 @ 04:53 AM
I don't really understand this because what is so important about this... =/ I will like to see other things then this...Friday, August 24, 2012 @ 06:31 AM
If only there wasn't loads of CoD Fanboys/girls the actual better games would stand a chance..Friday, August 24, 2012 @ 06:49 AM
Sometimes people complain that game companies don't cater to core gamers more and why the same stuff is churned out year after year. Lists like this is the reason why. COD is taking up 5 slots of the top twenty. It's good that some games have a long shelf life but I don't even think half of those games were released in the last year. I don't think that's a good sign. As much as I love GTAIV and RDR, the multiplayer on those games are a mess. RDR freeroam is fun until someone zooms by on a zebra throwing dynamite at you. *sigh* Going back to my single player games now. :)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 continues its dominance in this week’s Xbox live activity charts.
In fact it’s all looking rather familiar, with the usual titles occupying the usual chart positions. Don’t expect any changes for a little while, either, at least until the new Madden and the big Christmas releases start hitting.
So that’s that, but in other MW3 related news, there’s a new demo available for the game on XBL right now. Quite who it is designed for we’re not sure, as everyone in the world SURELY either owns MW3 or wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole, but hey it’s there so we’re telling you.
Add it to your download queue here. If you want.
