Persona 4: Arena Delayed in Europe Until Further Notice

Persona 4: Arena has been delayed in Europe.

The Arc System Works fighter had been due to hit on August 31st, but now the game has slipped to... actually we don't know when. Oddly, neither does the game's European publisher, Zen United.

“We do understand your frustration and a need for a concrete release date," said Zen. "However, until we can ascertain exactly what that release period will be we are hesitant to do so. We would rather have all the facts about release to hand, and all issues be resolved, before making such an announcement.

“Any dates you see online are purely speculation. The first announcement of a release date will happen on the Persona Europe FB page and the Persona 4 FB page. We will then notify our contacts in the main Fighting Game Communities around Europe. If you have not seen a confirmed release date on this page, then it is best taken as a rumour.”

So there yo have it. We'll keep you posted.

Take your time. I doubt I'll pay 50 euros for a fighting game with 13 characters.

This is why they should have made the USA version regionfree.
We in EU always gets screwed by this, when its an Atlus title. :(

It may only have 13 characters but it has a very large amount of story for each of them, it's pretty much a visual novel with fighting in it. Think Blazblue but multiplied.

But yeah this is ridiculous, especially when Atlus USA's reason for region locking the 360 AND the PS3 version was because "it releases simultaneously in all regions".

People don't seem to notice that it's Zen United and not Atlus that's doing this. Atlus is, in fact, very good with release dates and rarely ever delay a game without reason.
And also alot of you people won't even know the glory and greatness Shin Megami Tensei and it's Persona branch or any of the others because I bet alot of you never played them on the PS1, PS2, PSP and DS.
This is more then just a fighting game, it's a fighting game that continues the stories of 2 of the greatest games to ever grace the PS2.

@ 13

Sorry it's not region free.

@16

Actually the reason they region locked this game specifically (Since all PS3 games are region free except Persona 4 Arena) is because the price for the game in Japan is roughly $80 or $90 USD, and they region locked the game because most Japanese gamers would have just imported it therefore hurting the Japanese market. It's stupid that the fans suffer the most, but them the breaks when money is involved.

I am honestly sick of region locking games, because at the end of the day everyone in the world are the same. We are gamers!

That's easy for you to say because you're a yank and they always release their games on time there. Face it, kiddo, Atlus hate the EU end of.

Oh and @ #17 again, I'd just like to also point out that no, again, like a lot of other Atlus games, these " Shin Megami Tensei" games you speak of only had one or two of their games released in Europe. So you know, of course we don't know about them so uh, fuck off yeah kiddo?

Stupid kid ought to do some research first before being a dick.

@#20 What is a "yank"? Also Atlus doesn't have a branch in Europe, hence why they need a third-party (Zen United) to publish games over there while Atlus DOES have a branch in the US so they can release their games on time without the need of a third party. Atlus doesn't hate Europe, it's just hard for a smaller company like them to do things in countries where they have a weak presence.

Well Atlus SHOULD have a branch, they should have done so already if that was the case. And bullshit Atlus is a small company.

If other companies can do it, so should they. But no, they hate Europe for the last time.

@#23 Europe has 9 of the games in the SMT series:
Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army (PS2)
Digital Devil Saga (PS2)
Digital Devil Saga 2 (PS2)
Lucifer's Call/Nocturne (PS2)
Persona 2 Innocent Sin Collector's Edition (PSP)
Persona 3 (PS2)
Persona 3 FES (PS2)
Persona 3 Portable Collector's Edition (PSP)
Persona 4 (PS2).
The two collector's editions for Persona 2 and 3 only exist in Europe too, US never got them.
Also Atlus is s SMALLER game company compared to others like Konami or Square-enix.

Oooh 9 games, that's A LOT and Square Enix hardly release their games here either let alone delay them too.

Look buddy, just say you want them to have a branch here and you respect Europe a lot and I'll call it quits, deal?
