XCOM: Enemy Unknown
New XCOM: Enemy Unknown Trailer is Our Last Hope

2K has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming, deeply sexual XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

All gruff voiceover and thumping soundtrack, the trailer is a dramatic affair. Indeed, if you’d never heard of the game before you could be forgiven for thinking it isn’t a turn-based strategy title. But it is, y’know, and judging by our last session with the game it’s a bloody good 'un too.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is out in the US on October 9th and Europe on October 12th. Good luck, Commander.

The only RTS I played was Halo Wars. I liked the game a lot but it's a pain in the ass when played with a controller. This game however is turn-based so that may fix that issue.

Let's hope it lives up to the hype! I can see myself playing this for 300+ hours.

@#2 Turn based strategy is totally different than real time one, and it definitely isn't eveyone's cup of tea. I have to laugh that this is coming out on consoles. Mouse and keyboard are perfect for strategies. Feeling I had strengthened after playing Halo Wars

@4 Because it's turned based, you don't have to fight your controller first before worrying about the enemy. 90 seconds should be enough time to do what you want. That's my point.

I'm fairly certain this will be the best game I play this fall. Sorry, Borderlands and Dishonored.

#1 You too? I almost expected him to say the Aliens are here for 'The Cube'.

Otherwise, no matter how bad the fighting gets in this game, how many times I need to restart a mission. I am gonna go for a perfect game when I get this! Injuries will be had, limbs will be replaced, but lives will not be lost!

There was nothing quite like the original when you'd respond to an alien terror attack that would go completely wrong and you'd end up losing 10 of your guys in one mission. Damn Chrysallids could wipe out an entire team in a matter of turns if you weren't careful. I simply can't wait for this game. This is the game I've been wanting the most this year. Come on October.

@ #3 - Where in any of part of that video did you see anything that looked like a FPS?

I don't like strategy games (real or turn-based), but this game looks so amazing that I've already pre-ordered it and paid it off. I hope it's amazing even for people like me.

I will add that I am choosing this game over Dishonored, so I'm REALLY hoping it doesn't let me down.

#13 No it not rubbish (well maybe but I don't think so because same makers of Civilization, this franchise is fantastic so I think XCOM Enemy Unknown will be same) is because developers want real-time strategy take level step up which is why look bit different to any other strategy games in my opinion. :)

@ 13 - Are you also thinking of the FPS XCOM thats coming out next year? There are two XCOM games being released and they're both very different from each other. One is a turn based strategy game based off of the original, which is what this one is, and then there is a FPS coming out next year that is simply called XCOM. This one is XCOM: Enemy Unknown...
