Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes made its first public appearance over the weekend, with plenty of details and footage of the game emerging via series creator Hideo Kojima.

First up, Kojima has asserted that Ground Zeroes and Project Ogre are entirely different projects, adding that he is “sick and tired” of being asked about the relationship between the two games.

"While I am happy to know people liked ‘MGS Ground Zeroes’, I'm sick & tired of people keep asking me like ‘is that project Ogre?’ here in Seattle everyday," tweeted Kojima. "Project Ogre is what the project that Ogre appears. Ogre does not appear in 'MGS Ground Zeroes' trailer."

Got that? Good. We’ll stop asking him then.

So what else do we now know? Well, we know that the game’s main character, Big Boss, can now get behind the wheel of vehicles. As made necessary by the open world nature of the game,  you can summon helicopters and drive Jeeps. That’s according to GameSpot.

Beyond that we now now that Ground Zeroes is targeting current generation hardware. According to the PS Blog, the PC used to present the Ground Zeroes demo is comparable to a PlayStation 3 in terms of power.

Hideo Kojima also told the “One thing I want to make clear is that Ground Zeroes is something I’m making myself. I want to make it clear that Snake is outlet that he's taking a hands-on role in the development of the game. "Snake's back, but I’m also back," said Kojima. "I’m putting all my effort into that."

Kojima also added that he is making a different title for next-gen consoles.

Perhaps the most important revelation of the weekend, however, is footage. Quite a lot of it. All running in-engine and in real time. Check it out below.
