Medal of Honor: Warfighter's 'Zero Dark Thirty' Map Pack DLC Revealed
Written By
View author's profile

EA has today announced the first dose of DLC for Medal of Honor: Warfighter ahead of the game's release this October. Entitled 'Zero Dark Thirty', the add-on will tie-in with the movie of the same name, based on the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, directed by The Hurt Locker's Kathryn Bigelow. It's hoped that sales of the map pack will help generate $1 million for charities that benefit armed forces veterans in the US, through EA's Project Honor campaign.

MoH: Warfighter's Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack includes two multiplayer maps inspired by real world locations. The first is Darra Gun Market, which is a flourishing illegal arms market in a lawless region of Pakistan lorded over by a tribal leader. The second map is the remote, rugged area of Chitral, situated in the far north of Pakistan, bounded by Afghanistan to the west and China to the north.

The Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack will be available during the week of December 17th for 800 Microsoft Points with SEAL 6 weapon loadouts. Medal of Honor: Warfighter is out on October 23rd in North America and October 26th in Europe. Check out the two DLC maps in the screens below. The DLC will also be free with the Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition.

Typical EA. Still, at least it's only Medal of Honour. I'd like to know just how much of that goes to charity and how much EA takes.

Bet they'd reach that million faster if it wasn't such a ripoff. And was for a game worth caring about.

800MSP for two maps? They either be the best maps ever made, or it better come with a helluva lotta weapons.

Well, I guess it all depends how much goes for charity. If it's 50% I would have no problem paying $5 for 2 maps as the other $5 I would be donating. If it is only $1 per download or something along those lines I will pass. I guess only time will tell.

This is the exact shit why I will not buy EA product's any more as it's all about DLC=Money,DLC=Money,DLC=Money,DLC=Money,DLC=Money., don't worry about delivering a decent campaign and glitch/lag free & accessible to everyone MP, when we can shove out half a product and charge for the rest of it as DLC or a premium service that cost as much if not more than the game itself.

This is sure to improve Pakistan/American relations, still a pretty raw subject. Also if this was a real life story about how Osama died you'd have to play through the eyes of his dialysis machine in a dusty cave in Afghanistan about 7 years ago, how would they earn your trust again like that though right?

"$1 million dollars for charities"? one million divided amongst different organizations or a mil for each one? if its the latter it might justify the 800 points

It's great to see EA working on some nice-looking maps for their upcoming game, but would it not kill you to just include those maps with the game?

It does seem abit steep for DLC,even if it's for a good cause.

Paid for map packs give DLC a bad name and splinter multiplayer communities and help a game user base erode quicker. Better off throwing $10 at the charity of your choice.

@Everyone complaining, calm down. If you preordered the Limited Edition or buy a copy before they are all gone you get the DLC for free. Like with BF3 and Back to Karkand.

I'm all for donating to charity and all, but fuck Ea. Dating dlc pieces when the game isn't even out yet is just ridiculous in my opinion. 800 points for 2 maps is nothing. We don't even know what percentage of the price we pay will go to charity.

@17 and 18 The maps are free with the Limited Edition, like with Back to Karkand for BF3.

@20 You don't actually get to kill Bin Laden if that's what you are getting at. You are getting two maps based on real world locations that are going to be shown in the movie.

Forgive me for being skeptical of a greedy big-name company, but I want to watch my ten bucks fly straight into the hands of said charity. Knowing EA, it's more likely just an emotional ruse to make people feel less idiotic about buying DLC. If they can afford to buy out all these major game companies for a billion each, they can afford to give away a million without the gamers' help.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful or anything, but why only armed forces in the US, there are others out there, who do just as much, lets say a Brit buys this surely they would want that money to go to their armed forces?

Yet another am by EA to grab more money...but this time they stoop to a new low and use our troops as an excuse to make that money. 1 mill is not that much and I bet in the end not much of i really goes to benefit any of the troops.

DLC before the game is even released. And not only that, but it's $10 for two maps... $5 per map now? Really? They probably didn't even start printing the discs yet. EA really is the worst company. I wonder how much maps will be in the game at launch.

I could be mistaken but I didn't read anything about only 2 maps in the dlc. Only that 2 maps in the dlc are inspired by real places. Meaning there may be more maps, just not real locations. Which makes sense.

so its ok to make a game, showing teliban being killed. yet its not ok to show americans being killed. yet the kinect has blackwater game. someone please explain how any of this makes sense.

everyone should know by now. bush made up a fake enemy. politics like this has no place in gaming industry. i'm against EA doing a cashcow on this. they should be ashamed!

@41

A conspiracy theorist?! And if you care about the "teliban" so much, at least give them the honour of spelling it right! Jeesh man. Anyways, where did you get the idea that a game cant be made if it involves killing Americans? First of all it is a game. Secondly, ever heard of multiplayer? Half the time you are killing American soldiers.

@41 america has free speech, they can pretty much do anything man, and every fucking fps shows americans getting killed. Plus i agree with the bush making up a fake enemy, the true enemy is the government. no group of people should have authority over others.

at least its free for the people who have the limited edition. but 800points for the ones that don't get limited edition is sorta unfair, maybe 400 at least
