Oh god please do not make premium/elite bullshit for Black Ops 2Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 06:24 AM
no more premium please!!!!Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 06:24 AM
Q – If I bought a Call of Duty Elite Premium membership recently, will I get Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC? A – Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC is not included in the Call of Duty: MW3 Season of Content membership. We’ll be releasing new details soon. Speechless.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 06:25 AM
@1, 2 it's already certain there will be oneTuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 06:27 AM
@3 if you bought it recently then you get all mw3 content, it's to stop people from getting all mw3 and all black ops content with 1 subscription, of course if you bought some of the dlc before you bought premium your getting bent over by activision like usualTuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 06:31 AM
I thought Elite was a series-wide all-inclusive annual-fee subscription. I'm confused...Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 06:33 AM
Look how many sub's they got, does anyone seriously doubt that Ops 2 will have the same strategy?Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 06:39 AM
MW2 - Hey lets make call of duty ELITE where users pay yearly for the service to stay updated with the latest news and get some cool features and the DLC at discounted price Battlefeild3 - Lets release a premium pack similar to Elite but instead of paying yearly you pay once for each game we release and all the DLC Discounted. MW2 - OH FUCK OUR FIRST IDEA THATS THE SHIT RIGHT THERE WE GOTTA DO THAT SCREW ELITE. Activision - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON-7v4qnHP8Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 06:54 AM
@9 Elite wasnt for MW2 But hey you go enjoy BF3 now, sounds like an amazing game in your eyes. In my eyes it was kinda shittyTuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:02 AM
#6 Me too. What a shambles. Thank fudgeTuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:10 AM
Activision are such pieces of shit. I like how now, after the fact, they try to claim that it was only ever a subscription for MW3, and not for CoD in general.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:11 AM
Wow my friends is going to be pissed when I tell him this. The only reason he bought premium early was for Black Ops II. For him the MW3 content was just a bonus.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:25 AM
What do I do if I already renewed my subscription for Black Ops II?!Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:26 AM
@12 Yes, they appear to have withheld this information intentionally.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:34 AM
ahhh, the joys of realisation that you've been robbed by activision again. this is what happens when people don't listen, or believe what a publisher (like activision) tells them just because when they released it they announced it as a continuous service, they did not statte that your 1 year sub is only valid for 1 game (which-ever was out at the time) no mention of if they are backwards compatible (say if you bought it for BLOPS 2, and then tried to D/L the MW3 stuff, obviously no earlier than MW3 as this crap wasn't out then) though i'm pretty sure in the US you could probably win if you took acti to court, assuming this isn't already in some 400 page disclaimer that nobody ever reads now, maybe people will start listening to me when i say stop buying this shit, they're ripping you off with copy n pasted code & bullshit online service that should be/was free - until activision got involved (every game had this online stat tracking crap, and it was free, now everybody realised that idiots will pay for it, so we have to pay to track our stats properly) but i bet you fans will all rush out and buy BLOPS 2 on release, and it will be just as shit as MW3, yet it won't stop you spending another £40 on old shit maps that they re-jigged to work with an even more tweaked id tech 3 engine this was to be expected, but, i do believe you should be able to take lgal acton and win...you paid or 1 year of CoD "elite" if you don't receive the full 1 year, anything activision says is bullshit, and you should try to get them destroyed, so maybe we can get some real FPS's, and stop this cloned CoD shit let the downvoting commence...Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:44 AM
Elitle was bs. So you got some crappy maps before other players. PfffftTuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:51 AM
Hope the people sue Activision for false advertising.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 07:56 AM
premium lasts a year everybody knows that but i dont understand why i cant buy another Elite sub when mines gone so i can get the BLOPS dlc the same way and continue over my clanTuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 08:07 AM
Elite wasnt worth the money, it didnt work as it was advertised from day 1, we had a few months of clan ops before they dissapeared. So the extra year they gave alot of us for their incompetent crappy service before X-Mas...means nothing! Basically, this was broken when you brought it brand new...heres nothing in return for your problems..Thanks!Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 08:31 AM
They make it almost impossible to be loyal customersTuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 08:48 AM
LOL@ anyone who bought Elite..Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 08:53 AM
As capitalists of course they want these extra $50 on the side of what you pay for the game because wherever there's a dollar to be made you can bet your ass they're gonna try to make it. As for paying close to $200 to get prestige edition and still not have elite included in that however is downright ridiculous. The most annoying thing to me however is the fact that DLC's come out with or shortly after games now and are announced months before the game is released but are not free, rather instead we are forced to spend between $25 and $50 for content the developer either is making alongside the game or has been already made and simply held off for a greater profit. Finally, as a Treyarch fan I wish them the best of luck and I will enjoy my holiday season with not just Blops 2 but Halo and all the other goodies as well.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 09:54 AM
So if you run out of Elite subscription, can you still play MW3 DLC?Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 10:02 AM
So wait a minute...after saying how it'll be used in future games...now it won't? I swear I read once that us Elite Premium members get Black Ops 2 as well... What a load of crap. Greedy fuckers.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 10:23 AM
Geez... that's evil.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 10:36 AM
So for MW3, I bought into their BS on the benefits of Elite and I even talked several friends into buying the Hardened Edition for Elite. It only made sense at the time, that if we were going to buy the game, and going to buy the DLC as it came out, we were essentially saving about $20, because Elite was only $40 more than the game when purchasing the HE, and Acti announced that if you got Elite you would save $10 on purchasing the DLC separately over the course of the year (separate DLC cost $60 vs $50 elite cost vs $40 when purchased with HE). Even if just for the DLC alone and not all the extra Elite subs features, it was worth it to me. BUT now after a year of experience with it, I can wholeheartedly say it wasn't worth it for me, and will probably not get Elite with BlOps2 (i too thought that the extra months we got due to bad early start would roll into the next game; guess not). Here is a list of my reasons to get elite before i knew better, and counterpoints now that I do: -Perception: Early Access to Multiplayer maps would be awesome. -Reality: This was worthless because I only play Hardcore Team Deathmatch, and the only playlist option was Hardcore Moshpit; with the rampant lack of communication KC was not enjoyable and I hate S&D, but at least i can hold my own in HCTDM. I played the early maps once, otherwise, just played them on regular playlists when they release to the gen pub. -Perception: Clan operations sound fun, great clan double XP opportunities. -Reality: My casual gamer "clan" never played a single clan op together. -Perception: Single player operations, could earn real prizes. -Reality: Played 2, got Gold once; due to the broken website, barely ever visited throughout the year. -Perception: Access to map overlays on the Elite site, rather than having to find somewhere online (or game guide); with updates, which usually don't get published online. As well as the tips on gameplay, weapons, etc. -Reality: Available to all Elite subs, not just Elite. Saving money on the DLC and getting the new SpecOps related Achievements early was great but unnecessary. I still enjoy playing the MP, but I'd enjoy it just the same without the new maps. I pre-ordered Blops2 cause I loved Blops and they hooked me with Nuketown 2025 which was my favorite map. But I've been burned too many times now by Acti's bait and switch promises, think i've had enough.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 10:36 AM
I think after some investigation you will find that Elite was only ever going to be a 1 year thing: "MW3 DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT*, INCLUDING ALL THE MW3 MAPS" http://www.callofduty.com/elite/whats-included It sadly does not say anywhere that this runs into future games such as BLOPS. I anticipate that Activision will call it something like Black Ops II Elite.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 10:37 AM
Sorry for the memoir :-, just saying my piece.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 11:29 AM
People who bought into this are dumb. Look at who you were dealing with, the same people who release the same engine every year.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 11:33 AM
24: Yeah, the DLC is yours now. First of all, I dislike this for the same reason everyone else dislikes it. It's slimy. But think about this; anybody who bought an Elite subscription, oh, I don't know, let's say yesterday. They don't have an opportunity to renew their subscription until September 17, 2013. So, if they want to play Black Ops, they'll have to deal without early, free DLC, without clan features, without advanced stat tracking, without all that. That's gross. As someone that paid the full price for Elite, I say, if someone buys an Elite subscription now, and gets all the DLC for MW3 and then tries to get all the DLC for Black Ops 2, then they beat the system. Let them have it. You can't deprive someone of everything just because they found a loophole in something. Now, here's a question; I will not be getting Black Ops 2, as it will be terrible. MW3 isn't much better, but it is better. So, I'll be sticking around on MW3. My question is, will IW or Acti run any clan support on MW3 while Black Ops 2 is out? I want to continue to help my clan by participating in clan ops and challenges. Even if I did pay for another year of Elite, which I probably won't, will those exist in MW3, or is that game just chop liver once Black Ops 2 comes out?Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 11:59 AM
fuck you Activision. fuck you in the eye.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 12:06 PM
@27 I had pretty much the same perceptions and was disappointing with the reality of the situationTuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 12:34 PM
I agree cold heartedly with all of you, but if the new Blops Elite service offers the dlc with the usual new maps and that one new Zombie map, y'all know ppl are gonna be on that shit like a fat kid on a cupcake.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 01:39 PM
I'm going to delete anyone who plays BO2 from my friendlist. 12 yr old money-throwing idiots.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 02:01 PM
I really hope Elite is FREE for Black Ops 2. Elite was a joke for MW3. Other than getting the DLC early and saving a little bit of money, it was a joke.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 02:07 PM
If I bought a Call of Duty Elite Premium membership recently, will I get Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC? A – Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC is not included in the Call of Duty: MW3 Season of Content membership. We’ll be releasing new details soon. this is bullshit! the question asked if the current elite membership would count towards BO2 and its dlc, but the answer calls the current elite membership MW3 season of content membership!! 1. ACTIVISION i didnt buy a MW3 season of content membership, i bought a CoD: Elite membership which gave me "unparralelled stat tracking, early access dlc and all dlc for a £10 discount".so stop mincing your fucking words and start calling it something it has never been known to be called just before the new game arrives 2. beach head and activision themselves confirmed a LONG time ago via Twitter that anybody who was subscribed to elite (for example i bought elite in may, therefore i should get elite and its content until may 2013) would NOT have to repay to get all the benefits of the new elite as it will merely be a software update. 3. IF DLC isnt included and at a discount like it has currently been then i have to ask......whats the fucking point of Elite???????? like fuck will i be paying another £35 on top of the £64 im paying for the hardened edition to merely see stat tracking, and to be honest they havent even got that right this past year. so in conclusion, Elite is either dead and burried and activision havent got the balls to tell us, or they are going to actually be that cheeky and expect us to pay for the dlc on top of a subcription (most likely case). either way as a previous comment says, im flabbergasted!!!!Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 02:59 PM
People are honestly surprised by this. I had a feeling they might do this only because people will buy the BO2 dlc for zombies but most people could give a shit about the MW3 maps. I'm pretty certain they won't have a season pass for BO2 and they are ending MW3 content because they knew people would wait until a few weeks before BO2 comes out to get content for both games with one 50$ payment.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 03:11 PM
Halo Waypoint tracks your stats for free.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 03:21 PM
I know why people are mad about the elite thing on MW3 But at the same time people who bought the hardend edition got the steelcase and a liitle diary for what ive seen in pictures and the premium for 79.99 dlls so in my point of view that's a good deal, as i said is just my opinion.Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 03:22 PM
^ so does call of duty elite. God people still think you have to pay for stat tracking??Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 04:08 PM
Well, I never complained about, because it was optional, but seeing as it's all supposed to be integrated and what not, it strikes me as odd (greedy sure, but dumb as well) thing that this does not roll over to Black Ops 2... Especially if what would be on offer, is same thing with DLC for BO2...Tuesday, September 18, 2012 @ 05:32 PM
Activision really makes you pay to track your stats? Haha you COD fanboys really have no common sense if you pay to track stats!! Every other game is freeWednesday, September 19, 2012 @ 02:09 AM
Wednesday, September 19, 2012 @ 04:18 AM
@43 You're an idiot. Stat tracking is free, and it's been said many times that this is a case. Is anyone honestly surprised that you won't get BlOps II DLC if you've only just got an Elite Premiun sub? Seriously? You really thought Acti would let you get 2 years worth of DLC for the price of one? All Acti cares about is making money, of course they aren't going to let you start a new premium sub now and get all the DLC for both games. I'm more interested in knowing what will happen to the premium features in MW3 Elite that weren't just DLC, as I plan to carry on playing that instead of the pile of shit that is BlOps II.Thursday, September 20, 2012 @ 10:01 AM
@10 hey sounds like u cant read for shit. :)Saturday, September 22, 2012 @ 04:13 AM
Was I the only one who bought MW3, thought it was rehashed bullshit, then laughed when Activision started trying to get more money out of me the first time I went online? As soon as I saw the Elite option I was actually insulted. I've just given you £45 on release day for a game, yet straight away you tell me I need to cough up another £40 to be special? Like you haven't made enough money? Given how short, boring and moronic the single player in CoD has become, I thought the only thing justifying it being a full price game was the depth of multiplayer. When they tried pumping more money out of me for that, I finally had enough. BLOPS 2 will be the first CoD game I won't be buying.Monday, September 24, 2012 @ 12:17 PM
Here's a thought, how about giving us a least one map pack for free without requiring us to buy anything extra?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's season of content provided by the Call of Duty: Elite Premium service is ending, prompting Activision to post a quick FAQ on the Call of Duty MW3 Community page, addressing the termination of subscriptions and the availability of MW3's DLC.
While the MW3 season of content is drawing to a close, Activision notes in the FAQ that it'll be "releasing new details soon" regarding Black Ops II's DLC, which could potentially mean that Treyarch's game might be receiving a similar Elite treatment where its add-on content is concerned.
Here's the FAQ regarding the end of the Call of Duty: Elite Premium membership subscriptions:
Q – Why are you ceasing sales of new Call of Duty Elite Premium membership subscriptions now?
A – Call of Duty: MW3 Content Collection #4: Final Assault marks the final content release and the end of the Call of Duty: MW3 Season of Content for Call of Duty Elite Premium memberships.
Q – What happens if I bought a Call of Duty Elite Premium membership recently? Will I still get a year of Call of Duty Elite Premium services and all Call of Duty: MW3 DLC?
A – Yes, Call of Duty Elite Premium members will continue to enjoy all the Call of Duty: MW3 DLC and the full range of Call of Duty Elite Premium services and operations for Call of Duty: MW3 through the terms of their subscription.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II is out on November 13th.
