Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is to get a bunch of free downloadable content starting next month, with the season of free add-ons set to include the six characters discovered last week. As well as offering up free fighters however, Namco Bandai will also be giving players new stages.

Commencing on October 9th, the free DLC includes Dr. Boskonovitch, Violet, Miharu, Sebastian, Slim Bob and the original Tekken Tag Tournament's boss, Unknown. Stages wil include Russia, Chile, Saudi Arabia and 'Magic Show'.

While the free DLC kicks off on October 9th, it's not known what exactly will arrive on that date and thereafter. However, the content will be apparently be released in several drops from the start date onwards. Free stuff! Hooray!

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is out now.

  • Free* *Providing you have the online pass
  • You gotta love Harada
  • Provided you're a real gamer who paid the full price for the game and therefore deserve the full content. Capcom should take note.
  • @1 why wouldn't you the game came out like 2 weeks ago.... They came with the game... On topic.. YAY FREE DLC =D FUCK YOU CAPCOM!
  • @4 It came out last week. People rent. Like moi. When the DLC comes out it would have been a month, the fact it takes about 15 hours for the game to be completed. I imagine people will be picking it up used by the time this DLC drops. Information is golden.
  • Not Everyone trades there games in.every game since 360 launch i have played i have still in a huge collection and because its such a better game then tekken 6 i will be keeping TTT2. one more to add to my collection on friday Borderlands 2 xD cant wait .
  • @4 Free DLC... that is locked on the disc and require an online pass to use. I almost bought this on release, then a friend got the 1000 in a weekend and made me think twice. Maybe instead of coming up with 'clever' ways to extend the game by unlocking characters on the disc after the release date, they should just make a game that lasts for a decent length of time? I'll wait for it to be available for a fiver, and get the season pass as DotW.
  • @6 It's clever to keep games you have no intention of returning to on a shelf and allow them to depreciate in value to the point that if you ever did want to sell them, you would get a pound in return. I bet George Osborne is looking over his shoulder constantly with that kind of economic nous in his tailwind.
  • Fucking hell, there really is no pleasing some moaning wankers
  • lol no ogre
  • @9 so true and a lot of them are here.
  • @9 Disc locked content is good now? I'll bear that in mind next time Capcom do it and everyone gets their knickers in a twist. Also, nice on-topic comment, you added a lot of value to the discussion there. @11 Nice on-topic comment, you added a lot of value to the there. Heavens forbid someone comes on here to express an opinion. Do you cry/throw out abuse every time you read something you don't agree with? I'm guessing the answer is yes. Children.
  • @5 if your renting it, why would the dlc matter to you? Its not like its adding achievements or anything. How are people like yourself missing out on free dlc when you don't even own the game. That's like renting skyrim and moaning about paying for the dlc, can't have it both ways.
  • @12 Thank you for your excellent moderating, in which you displayed the exact sentiment you were trying to denounce.
  • @14 Your comment made no sense what so ever. Im highlighting that the DLC is not free. It requires a pass. So if you rent or buy the game used it will not be free to you unless you buy the pass for 800 MSP like I did. I understand how much you want to look clever about a game you haven't even played, but I feel as if that needs explaining as its a work around to charge for on disc content like someone mentioned. Skryim hasent claimed it has free dlc. So that entire point is moot. No helping some people is there?
  • @15 My comments in the thread have been on topic, and I haven't abused anyone. I came in to discuss the news in the thread and did just that, your major input here was 'Fucking hell, there really is no pleasing some moaning wankers ' Great that, I think a career in literature beckons mate.
  • @7 with "last for a decent amount of time" i hope you don´t mean getting the 1k quick. For some people fighting games last a very long time, i played SSFIV over 350h. imagine that not everyone drops a game after getting the full 1k and is still enjoying it? impossible right? online pass is a way to overcome the raising losses because of rentals. its wrong if you do what darksiders 2 did where you need te pass to unlock content in a singleplayer game.
  • @12 you felt spoken to? thats strange...
  • @8 Oh no, people like to play games not for just cheevers? They like to keep a collection? This makes you all butthurt and angry why? I have no intention of playing some of my older games on older systems, but if I need money, I can sell them in a heartbeat on ebay or so and make good loot. Collectors are just that. Games can become rare, and worth money down the road.
  • @18 I lasted 600+ hours on SSFIV, it was a very good game. What I was saying here is that a good friend of mine finished TTT2 to 1000 within 15 hours, and has no desire to play it ever again. Hence my comment about it not lasting - I agree fighters can last forever and a day, but only the decent ones. This game from what I heard has issues with simple things like the Tag mechanics and endless juggles in place of any tactical nous, cutting it's lifespan dramatically - hence the need for artificial life extenders like disc locked content. @12 Not particularly - your comment didn't come with a tag directing it at anyone, and it was just left there with no bearing on the topic or any ongoing conversation within. Hence my noting it as a complete waste of time.
  • @20 'My Horse and Me' is definitely a keeper mate, bet that will be worth loads in a few years. Don't talk shit.
  • @22 Then don't you either if someone prefers to keep their shit. Your comment about him holding onto games wasn't exactly OT like you claim you're staying on.
  • @23 I beg to differ, it was fully on topic, and referring to the possibility that if this is indeed a lightweight title as suggested people won;t be keeping it around long enough to take advantage of the content that should have been avaioable from the start. It's a small peeve I have granted, but what is a forum if not for airing these kinds of grievances? Would you prefer it if I stuck to posting 'First!!!' in every thread, quoting silly Skyrim memes, or talking down Call of Duty like everyone else? I guess it would offend you less than a valid opinion based on your bitching in here.
  • @21 guess it comes down to personal taste on this one since i hated tekken 6 but i really enjoy the hell out of this game. i haven´t experienced any infinites (if you mean that with endless not sure) but if the are some it can be patched. every fighter had those sadly even vanilla SFIV. i don´t know how long your friend played SSFIV but if you really lasted that long in SSFIV you should have plenty of fun with this.
  • @24 Sure it's a valid opinion, but bashing someone for keeping all of his games is kinda silly. That's all I'm saying. The dlc content thing on disc is a gripe of mine too, hence why I pick and choose my purchases these days. Gonna grab the SF collection that just came out because it includes all dlc for both games in it, since I never bought either of the two from the get-go.
  • @25 I also hated Tekken 6 - if I'm honest 3D fighters are not my cup of tea and I'm all about 2D. However in this case I wanted to pick this up for the sole purpose of playing Multiplayer with a friend that DOES like them. Pointless now though. @26 Even if for a second we pretend that he does keep all his games that he buys (Doubtful looking at his Gamertag), it really is pointless in the long run as he will be forced to eventually sell them on (unless he's going to keep hundreds of retail 360 games with him for the rest of his life) and when he does they will be next to worthless. I have a few boxes of games myself from past consoles that I would never part with, but if I kept every game I had ever bought I would need a second home to keep them in. Much better to sell them on as you finish them, no?
  • WOOOOOO FREE DLC!
  • @27 To each his own. Maybe he'll end up on a hoarders show one day :p All I personally keep these days after buying are fighting games I still want to play online with friends, and horror games. Oh, and the Burger King games :p After leaving Gamestop long ago I stopped the collecting because I was amassing too many cartridge games, ps1, etc. Has paid off, but these days I know it wouldn't. On the topic of TT2 though and this dlc, I hope one of my friends picks it up so I can try it. And they get the dlc so I can kick ass as Dr. B
  • I miss those days when extra characters/costumes/modes had to be unlocked by finishing the game with certain characters, all that has now been replaced by DLC/
  • EXCELLENT!
  • @8 i have no plans to trade in any of my games not now not ever i don't care if they are worthless but some of the best games i have ever played hence i don't buy movie games or sports games EVER
  • @32 Welcome to this morning... :
  • Free is always good for players
  • Where are you people getting this whole "need the online pass for dlc" thing? They said that the dlc will be added via update to the game. You don't even technically have to download it. Just start up your game and guess what? There's a new update! What is it? New character and/or stage.
  • @35 nice input, shame youre wrong. http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Tekken-Tag-2-DLC-Free-Harada-Tries-Clean-Up-Capcom-Mess-46899.html
  • Please stop entertaining Rancid people. OT:Free stuff is good.
  • @16 I have the game purchased from day 1 it came free with a dlc code for the online pass WITH THE GAME. God no helping some people who clearly know nothing about what's in the box of a game.
  • @36 This is where I found out about that. I was only asking where they got that since there was nothing about it in this particular post. http://evo.shoryuken.com/2012/09/19/tekken-tag-tournament-2-downloadable-character-and-stage-releases-begin-october-9th/ But honestly I don't see why people are complaining. The online pass is only $10 if you didn't just buy the game. That will give you all of these characters, stages, and online modes. For $10. That's not bad at all considering every other fighting game out there charges like $5 per character and $2 for new skins and let's not forget Blazblue's $7 per character. So if you didn't buy the game new, you only have to spend $10 for 6 new characters, 4 new stages, and online modes. Plus possibly more characters in the future. It's not a big deal at all.
  • does anybody know when, or if, Angel kunimitsu n the other preorder characters will be up for download?
  • Where can I download this? I have the online pass and can't find this anywhere >.<
