Dead Space 3 Walkthrough Trailer Takes You to Eudora

Visceral Games' Dead Space 3 looks better and better every time we see it. To date, what's been shown to the public has failed to measure up to expectations, but this latest gameplay walkthrough video seems like a step in the right direction. As well as more gameplay, the trailer also features contributions from the dev team.

Picking up with Isaac Clarke pacing through claustrophobic laboratories, fighting off Necromorph creatures, this is good old Dead Space, with plenty of atmosphere. There's even an awesome zero-G bit as Isaac is jettisoned into the silence of outer space.

Check out the new walkthrough trailer for another look at Dead Space 3 and some insight from the developers. Dead Space 3 is out on February 5th, 2013 in North America and February 8th, 2013 in Europe.

I really hope this lives up to what 2 left us with. I played that game into the ground. This looks pretty good, but so did darksiders 2. Il reserve judgment until release, I think.

I'm just trying to keep an open mind with Dead Space 3. A bit like Resident Evil 6, I may not like everything I see but I'll judge them when I've played them fully. A lot to live up to mind you...

I'm going to be the critic.

First of all I stopped at eight minutes, so pardon me if it suddenly turns amazing.

The first few minutes were so un-Dead Space. In the first two games you had some scenes here you're running for your life but this just felt cheap. Explosions, EXPLOSIONS, explosions.. Then he gets to combat, "This is my favorite part..." and they introduce the enemy with a cutscene. They take you out of the action, make you safe. "You're going to shoot this." Even then they're coming at you slowly, the only real suspense coming from the player, who's trying to make it look like a struggle by shooting slowly.

It really kind of disappoints me, I haven't seen much gameplay for this game. I feel let down. Not to mention press releases from EA saying how they blatantly want to make it more accessible, less scary, doesn't relieve me. And maybe I misinterpreted, but they're adding "dungeons"? Like, little side areas filled with loot and enemies? Yeah... Then there's gun-crafting... So many things this game doesn't need. I'm always up for co-op, but think that maybe some sort of survival mode would've been better? Adding a second player to the narrative eliminates any suspense there was.

I critique and critique, but I'm still looking forward to this. I am a consumer whore, and love Dead Space. It seems to me there might be some absolute clarity about the story in this game, which is definitely something I'd like to see. Are they advertising this as an end to a trilogy? I know they've got all sorts of plans for spin-offs but I'm curious if this is meant to be the end of Isaac's little adventure.

I can't be anymore hyped for this than I am at this point LOL Will play through it alone first time around and give it a go in co-op on my second playthrough if I can find a good team tame who know when to shut up LOL

I really don't understand why some people think the co-op ruins the game. I don't think they realize they can play solo....

So wait, the enemy in this game is the zombie form of an ancient e-mail program?

@7 I get how you feel with regards to much of what you said but I get the impression this is taking place very early in the game, probably the very beginning. If you think back to Dead Space 2's opening, with the running through the hospital in the straight jacket, slow lumbering enemies and a gradual introduction of skills and powers it's not that unlike the previous 2 games. Plus they did point out the were necro-mummy's so the probability of them not being able to move as fast after several hundred years of decay is pretty self-explanatory... on the other side you could say that it's impossible to make a mummified necromorph considering the virus only affects living tissue but hey this is science fiction not reality!

Seriously, why is that guy reloading after almost every three shots fired? The weapon has 10 shots, not three and I don't see any benefit in reloading that often (as in active reload like Gears). And it also seems that it has zero effect in reloading earlier, besides that it takes more time.

@8 and 17 - Tools. Every last one of you. Also people quit bitching about the co-op. For fucks sake it isn't going to ruin the game so just shut up.

As great as it was watching the demo, I may hold off u til it's cheaper. With all the games coming out in the first part of 2013 this will have to take the back seat.

Mr. Shenanigans basically summed up how the demo leaves me feeling. I loved Dead Space 1 and 2 and I'm sure I'll get this but I've been pretty unimpressed with everything I've seen so far.

@18 - How do you know, what with the game not being out yet and all? The preview I read in Empire magazine - a film mag admittedly, said the co-op completely destroys the tension and turns it into a generic shooter.

I love the dark, quiet atmosphere with Deadspace. Good game to play at night with the lights off. Really looking forward to this.

I like the co-op actually. I mean yes it could do without, yes it will probably die down the horror some. But still you can play a great game with a friend and just have fun. I mean not every game has to be perfect you can play solo if you'd like or play co-op.
