To celebrate the impending launch of Halo 4 next month, Microsoft is inviting fans to enter a competition this week to win a trip to an undisclosed location in Europe for a "top secret assignment". Being top secret, there's no details on what exactly the trip to Europe entails, which could mean enduring some sort of Hostel-style torture. Although, we'd wager it'll actually be something good, rather than horrific.
"Just five people in the UK will have the chance to embark on the ultimate adventure into the unknown to celebrate the launch of the latest installment of the epic blockbuster franchise which has sold a staggering 43 million copies worldwide since launch in 2001," the press release exclaims. "If the experience sounds shrouded in mystery, it’s because it is. Those lucky enough to be selected will be transported to an undisclosed European location for a top secret assignment where the “Halo” universe will be brought to life like never before."
In essence, the lucky competition winners will be whisked away on an incredible adventure "anchored in exclusive gameplay, with exclusive access to the game which sees Master Chief return to battle for the survival of mankind once again."
You'll also get the chance to talk to the folks at 343 Industries, and Xbox's social media channels will enable you to keep tabs on the quest during the coming weeks. You can also use the dedicated Twitter hashtag #halo4experience to help other fans follow the story.
In total, just 20 fans across Europe will get to the chance to experience this Halo mission and "once-in-a-lifetime experience". If you want to be in with a chance of attending, you'll need to complete the "UNSC enlistment form" at http://www.xbox.com/halo4-enlistment. You'll need to be over 18, a resident of the UK and authorised to travel to "an undisclosed location on Earth’s continent of Europe" on 30th October, 2012.
That is all. Good luck, Spartan.
