Croteam has shared a few new bits of info on Serious Sam 3: BFE, including details on pricing, DLC and release dates.

Speaking via the Serious Sam Twitter account, the studio revealed that the XBLA shooter’s campaign and multiplayer (along with DLC) will be sold separately.

You’ll be able to grab Serious Sam 3: BFE on its own and play through the campaign in either single-player or co-op for 1200 MSP. Meanwhile, a package containing The Jewel of the Nile DLC and the game’s multiplayer suite will set you back another 1200 MSP.

“The main SP/co-op campaign is 1200 MS Points; versus multiplayer and Jewel of the Nile DLC are combined at 1200 MS Points,” said Croteam.

Croteam also suggested that we can expect both packages to release simultaneously this month, saying “Point your crosshairs at mid-October, looks like that's when Serious Sam 3 XBLA and Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile are going to drop!”

This is all subject to Microsoft certification, of course.

The Jewel of the Nile DLC offers up three new campaign missions set within the main game’s storyline. There’s new weapons in there too, plus the return of two familiar “monstrous” faces.

Nice work, Nevander.

  • Wow. Watch nobody buy the MP pack then seeing as it will most likely be devoid of any players anyway.
  • Wish ALL games would do this. If I could have paid $25 for the SP campaign for Battlefield 3, I wouldn't have hated the game so much. Well, since the campaign was about 13min long, about $10 would have been better. I'm all for devs doing this. If in a few years, the sales of the MP outsold the SP, and they just focuses on MP, I'd be cool with that. More money in my pocket.
  • Meh. If the players are there, then maybe...just maybe.
  • SP definitely, MP probably not. Interesting direction though imo.
  • Wow indeed! What the fuck? Seriously, it will only be a matter of time before Call of Duty tries this crap! Selling you half a game is a joke. I'm a big fan of Serious Sam, but they can forget it. I'll wait (Already been waiting for this for ages, since it's been out on the PC for a while)and get it when it's half price Deal of the Week style, that way I'll get the WHOLE game for a reasonable price.
  • Well that ok with me because I getting this game for Single-player and co-op since there no MP achievements in that game so no reason get MP also I not big huge fans of MP too. I hope some other XBLA games in future have same way because it's good to choose which you like to play on either modes. I hope publishers to learns about this new good way for people buy XBLA if games come with all modes. :)
  • CoD take notes.
  • But if release achievements with SP and MP same place then make no sense why sold separately but understandable if no MP achievements. :)
  • Not bad, the game is great but the MP is just worthless anyway, I won't be buying this version but it's certainly worth a purchase for any SS fans
  • This would make more sense if it was cheaper than $15. I have no problem with multiplayer being released separately if it keeps a game's cost down, but you know that isn't how it works. If you're going to release a Singleplayer game for $15 and a multiplayer mode+3 more levels ON THE SAME DAY for another $15, I'm not understanding why they didn't just release a retail disc for $30 and called it a day.
  • @2 There was nothing wrong with the BF3 campaign, in my opinion it told the story better than the latest Modern Warfare storyline did. But to that extend I agree that some of the more better selling games should have an option to just purchase the multiplayer or single player, If you go play a CoD online game you'll notice most of the people who play it have low gamerscore hell I've even seen somebody people with 4-5 years and 0GS...
  • I think its a terrible idea. Don't think the mp will be that popular and with this it will be less. So the mp wont survive.
  • Wait so they are releasing a SP DLC with the MP portion of the game?
  • Fuck that shit. It's gonna share an achievement list so people will feel the need to buy it ayway.
  • Watch as this too doesnt get released in New Zealand.
  • Ding, ripoff. Will get the sp only.
  • Not paying twice for the same crap. What's next? Buying Halo 4 MP modes one by one?
  • Stupid idea. I have never play a serious sam game though, so it does'nt really matter to me. I just hope it does'nt catch on with other games.
  • That is expensive. 1200 MSP is a decent amount of money, if that wanted us to pay 30$ for it, they should have released multiplayer and singleplayer together on a disc, but please, either multiplayer and singleplayer while running the same content or no single- or multiplayer at all. I'm not going to make a retour to the Xbox Home menu just to wait for the multiplayer to load...
  • I dont know how i feel about this yet.Why isnt it a games on demand title? That would have been a way better idea. What will we think if it has a set of achievements with the dlc? 1200 msp is quite alot. Now that im thinking about it, the campaign missions on the dlc are pissing me off. Shouldnt have been any multiplayer anyway. Coop and campaign only. Yeah im getting pretty angravated now.
  • @19 They were going to release it on a disc but couldn't find a publisher to back the disc verison up so why not do this it is a decent idea at least they are adding it as dlc. @20 games on demand games don't sell as well as arcade games I think all 3 direct to god games are not big sellers.
  • Well, this has lost all of my interest in this game now. I will not pay twice for a game that you should pay once for, for something that should come as part of the parcel. It's a horrible idea to split things like this, it'll only lead to milking more money from fans of various games, if this picks up in any way, I can nearly guarantee CoD will do this, then find a way to milk more money from it. For 1200, this is an utter rip off, per hart I mean, they could of at least put it to 600msp each, so then it'd only cost the full price of a normal game. I hope this makes next to no profit, to show this model won't work when you over charge for it.
  • I wonder If this has something to do with the size of a game being limited to 2 gig and that they had to trim the fat in order to release it.
  • don't complain about the price, the game is / was £30 at release on PC 2400 MSP is less than that, just because it's an arcade title doesn't mean it's worth less than some bullshit CoD / BF nonsense...selling seperately is a wise idea, most people won't play MP because it's not a class driven sack of shit i've never understood how people are willing to pay £45 for a cod, then DLC when it comes out, but any game that is over 800MSP on XBLA they whine about pricing....serious sam games are better FPS's, and that is a fact...i've played shooters for 15 years, and watched the quality drop through the floor since the original xbox...now gaming is a chav thing to do, only pointless rehashes of the same crap come out every year, and sell well, anything "different" gets nothing but whiners i'll be buying SP on release, and maybe MP if i have enough money (with doom3BFG & under defeat HD coming the week after i can't afford much, oh and origin of pain dlc for trials) plus, if any of these clowns who complain had ever been on steam, they would realise that half of the games can be purchased this way...it's just now MS has finally accepted it...you cunts would've only whined like fuck if it was all one package... TBH i was expecting at least 1600MSP for just the base game...anyone complaining, i hope your xbox RRODs and you lose your job / allowance from daddy, you are what is wrong with the industry today
  • Doesn't help that most multiplayer XBLA games are dead after 1-2 months. Better to get it on a sale because then you'll have people to play with.
  • What is with all the complaints about it being a ripoff and too expensive? It's a FULL game. It's the same as one you can buy, in the stores, on disc. You are getting a massive game for very cheap pricing compared to normal AND they are splitting the multiplayer out so YOU get the choice in whether you want to pay for it or not. Some people don't care about multiplayer, people complain about having to pay $60 for a game with short SP and tacked on MP, now you have a choice. Buy the SP if you don't want MP, if you like it, get the whole game. Seriously, giving us a CHOICE and a big discount is not a bad thing? It's a full release game that was supposed to be on disc, but they released it on the arcade instead.
  • I find it strange that people would rather pay $30 for a full game even if they barely touch the multiplayer than to just pay $15 for singleplayer
  • Sucks that the SP DLC is tacked onto the MP disc...meaning if SP fans want the full SP game, they have to buy the MP portion as well. Needless to say...pass.
  • @2 Battlefield 3 is an amazing game with a fun campaign . Why the hell does everyone have so much crap to say about every military shooter no matter if its COD,Medal of Honor,or battlefield . All people do on here is complain . OT: Im not really sure how great of an idea this is i would rather get the whole game with one purchase but oh well .
  • If they're gonna do this, why combine the DLC with the multiplayer? I've zero intention of touching multiplayer at all, so I'd rather not pay for it.
  • I fully agree with #24. Being the HUGE Serious Sam fan I am, I am going the full 2400 on this one. Granted, I may never play the MP but I want the whole package! It's fully worth it in my eyes. Come on mid-October!
  • This game on PC is like $30 so I guess Croteam didnt want to release a $30 arcade title which lead them to this. I will tell you that Serious Sam is defiantly one of those fps that doesn't focus on MP. Co-OP and single player is where this series shines best. But if anyone on here is on Steam you guys know this has been on sale before. I picked it up for i think $12, great buy if you're into single player or a fps like Duke Nukem with the over the top action.
  • 15 for the single player...15 for the multiplayer... Thats good value... Not sure why some of these ppl in here are dropping F bombs... These are great prices
  • thats what turned me into super offensive mega troll mode... yes we know it's been on sale (as are all games that don't say CoD) withing the first 6 months....thats how i got arkham city for £20 2 months after release, and harley quinn dlc for about £2 not long after release...they often have 50 - 75% off sales on items, daily deals etc...steam is way better than XBL / PSN....unfortunatle that the GFWL client is so annoying that nobody is willing to make games for the platform now i'm in a much calmer mood, i'm just waiting for MS to hit the go switch on trials evo dlc....i had 2 hours this afternoon....i've wasted one of them with F.A. to do because store doesn't update at reasonable times (for the UK)
  • this sucks. i was going to get this but now im going to wait till the game and dlc are half off. 30 bucks aint worth it. and all you crybaby fan boys that think im cheap or are just looking for something to bitch about can just deal with that fact. =)
  • Soo hyped for this collection! ^_^
