Microsoft is preparing to launch its Xbox Music service on October 26th, according to the latest reports.
Citing “multiple sources familiar with Microsoft's plans,” The Verge report that the new service will launch at the same time as Windows 8.
The report also states that Xbox Music will offer the choice of a free service with ads, or an ad-free subscription model, similar to Spotify.
Not just confined to Xbox Live, the service will also be accessible across Windows Phone and Windows 8.
You can also save your music collection in the cloud, via Microsoft’s SkyDrive service, and access songs from multiple devices, including iOS and Android.
An update for the Xbox dashboard and Windows 8’s Music and Video apps will be released before the launch of the service.
