Ninja Gaiden 2
Ninja Gaiden II Mission Mode Drops July 25th
Written By

On July 25th (for 800 MSP), NG2 fan will be able to download a new "Mission Mode" which will have a reported 25 missions of varying tasks such as staying alive as long as possible or killing enemies quickly with certain specific weapons. Your best performance will be tracked and ranked via Xbox Live leaderboards.
Should be a pretty cool feature, but it may be a bit pricey for something that really should have been on the disc in the first place.

I take it no achievements? Sounds like something that would be perfect for achievements....

I'm with ya, slip. It really seems like they've been milking NG2 for all it's worth.

I guess the only good news from this is that they didn't say they weren't doing it.

I wouldn't download it even if it came with achievements. 800msp is about $10USD for a max of 250 gamerscore points. So you guys demanding achievements believe 250points is worth the 10$ fee? Not me

We're talking about multiple bosses per battle or bosses with IS and Archer ninjas.

Are you so sure you can complete them on Master Ninja difficulty?

I for one hope there are no added achievements because I'm not paying 800 ms points for something that should have been and probably was ready when NG2 was released.(You think Team Ninja and Tecmo only did this after NG2 was released even though they were busy with law suits?)

I really don't like the idea of having 1000/1250 just because I don't wanna waste my money.

For me No achievements = not buying. I am getting sick of Microsoft just milking ALL games with this sort of BS. It does sound pretty fun, but again unless there are achievements this will be a no go.

For all the people complaining that it should be on the disc already, try thinking about it from the developer's view.
There is no work to cost ratio when it comes to video games. Whether they spend 10 weeks or 10 months developing the game, it will be sold for the same price.
The game has also been out for over a month, so it's possible this content wasn't even finished when the game was finalised.
It's also completely optional content. You won't be missing out on part of the story or anything like that. You can still have the full Ninja Gaiden II experience without it.

As Dezmon pointed out (#18), if achievements were included they could potentially be incredibly ridiculous for the average joe player.

Bullshit. Should have been included in the game. I love Ninja Gaiden, but there's NO way I'll stoop to that.

It should be free. I might DL it, but probably not. Will it unlock new weapons, or old ones that are just easier to get?

Why does it NEED achievements? What is wrong with you people? Do you not remember what games were like BEFORE achievements?

Gee whiz, the first Xbox didn't have achievements, you didn't complain before the idea was proposed.

Ok Im kinda upset. This should have been on the disc. Plus, 800 point, I think 400 would be good enough even though thats still ridiculous. And achievements would be pretty good.

I'll probably get it regardless of whether there are achievements included or not..there should be seeing as how we're getting fucked like know paying for content that was obviously left off the disc so we could get charged for it later.

Honestly we'll know if it is on the disc when it releases. Anyone who has Beautiful Katamari and bought DLC for it knows that was on the disc. If a DLC size is only like 100 kilobytes I think its suspect to being on the disc and your download is just an "unlock code." In Beautiful Katamaris case if my download was whole new stages I would think it would be at least 50-100 megabytes. I suppose though if its just reusing textures and everything else existing on the disc the download might just be instructions of sorts to tell the game and its code to make that stage.

Thats my little theory/ rant, but either way it is getting ridiculous paying $2 here for that costume and $2 there for that awesome set of horse armor *rolls eyes.* In the end though it is our choice to buy the conte

For that said:

1. Disc is too small to include the other stuff.
- Lost Odyssey sold at $74.90 (same price as NG2 in my country) and had 4 discs, so that's not a very good excuse on TN's part

2. The DLC was not ready
- With all the legal crap going down with TN and Tecmo, do you really think that they added the finishing touches in the midst of suing each other?

i believe that these things will be free in a matter of time because it will not be able to compete with the later games that have yet to be released, i.e. Gears of War 2. Although I may be wrong in the most part, i have found that some of the DLCs have been priced then made free (i.e. Rainbow Six Vegas and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.) It all depends on the company if they are willing to do this for the consumer.

Something as small as this may be available for free in the future. The costumes may not be free because they have no reason to and is not necessary for gameplay longevity.
