More GameStop pre-order shenanigans now, as the US retailer has bagged itself exclusivity for Anarchy Reigns playable Bayonetta character. In Europe, you'll be able to play as Bayonetta in the Day One Limited Edition, as previously announced, but if you want access to Bayonetta and the extra game modes in the US, then you'll need to pre-order from GameStop.

Playing as Bayonetta, you'll be able to unleash her 'Wicked Weave' attacks and blast enemies with her Scarborough Fair pistols, while in Dogfight and Mad Survival modes, you'll be able to engage in even more anarchic multiplayer madness. Dogfight sees fighters pelting each other with bullets while hanging from helicopters, whereas Mad Survival has you banding together with friends to face Anarchy Reigns' playable fighters in battle.

Anarchy Reigns will be heading to North America on January 8th, 2013. If you want to secure your Bayonetta and additional game modes pre-order bonus, you'll need to head to your local GameStop store or visit GameStop.com. Check out the trailers for both pre-order incentives below.

  • Looking forward to this, enjoyed the demo!
  • Oh boy........this isn't going to end well. What a crock of shit
  • im still pissed of that bayonetta 2 isn't going to be on the 360. fucking hate developers at times.
  • @3 Your hate should be directed at the ones who passed on the sequel Microsoft, the had an opportunity just as Sony and Nintendo did and Sony and Microsoft passed but Nintendo said yes... so direct your hate where it belongs. Are you not happy with the many exclusives we have on 360... gears... halo... kinect games and a few arcade games... that's a hundred exclusives right there maybe more... calm down we got more than enough exclusives lol
  • @4 Believe it or not, not everyone who has a 360 plays Gears and Halo. In my case, Bayonetta was the first game I played and is my favorite game on the 360, so yes, I believe I (as well as a lot of other people) have the right to be very angry at somebody.
  • @4 We only know what they told us, nothing more. I can't imagine Nintendo was the only one saying yes, but the ones with the largest check.
  • Newsflash people. Nintendo is spending all that cash from the original Wii to bribe and secure exclusives to their platform.
  • @7 Too bad all that cash went into a current gen console. So much Bayonetta 2 potential wasted.
  • And here they are at it again. No matter what you throw in there I will not buy at gamestop. They are thieves to honest folks.. On different negative note, I hate the fact that if you don't preorder, you have to pay extra (for that later released DLC) somewhere down the line. I could understand reasoning for bonus stuff in brand new gamne against used one, but preorder shit is getting ridiculous!
  • It'll be up as standard DLC later on. A quick way for GameStop/SEGA to grab some easy and fast cash off this.
  • Funny how the game publishers say they hate that Gamestop takes money away from them with used game sells. But then gives in to them with exclusive promotional pre-order DLC that drives people to the stores. I hope that they will make it free to the other buyers after a time.
  • @11 Exactly! It makes no sense whatsoever. They blame Gamestop for them losing money (which is why they claim they do online passes) but then give them exclusive stuff to get people to their stores. Stupidity at its finest.
  • The last of Bayonetta we will see on XBOX... :-((((
  • Anyone know what these kinds of pre-order codes go for on ebay? I'm tempted get the code(s) that way, then get the game when it's $20. Screw Gamestop. lol
  • ITT: People still pretending it's Nintendo's fault it's exclusive rather than Nintendo's fault we're even GETTING a Bayonetta 2. Or did everyone forget the part where Bayonetta 2 was canceled because SEGA didn't think it would do well since they were unhappy with a million copies sold? Nintendo had the biggest wallet for it? Since when did Nintendo EVER do something like this before? Resident Evil on Gamecube? Even though one was a remake and the other was ported to everything anyway? Nintendo saved Bayonetta and everyone's still too upset that nobody else stepped up to the plate they just want to play the whole "LOL NINTENDO JUST PAID MORE". They never pull that shit that Microsoft and Sony do with the "you're not allowed to release this on anything else". They *have* sought out dead franchises (this and Fatal Frame) and brought them back. Sucks you can't get it on your console, but you should just be glad it even exists and if it does well, Platinum could always make an edited port probably (since it will likely have Nintendo references). Nintendo's just publishing it, after all, we won't know the severity until it comes out.
  • Son of a fucking bitch GameStop.
  • Bayonette was great ,not picking this game up just because of the character. Pre ordered a WII U though so i`m definitly gonna play Bayonetta 2, first one was awesome.
