Dishonored: Dunwall City Trials Dated and Priced, New Screens Too

Bethesda has revealed a date, price and fresh screenshots for Dishonored’s first add-on, Dunwall City Trials.

The content includes 10 challenge maps designed to test combat, stealth and mobility skills. The aim is to kill as many targets as possible within a time limit, surviving against waves of Tallboy, guards, weepers and more.

In addition to this the add-on will also contain a new set of achievements (yay!), plus global online leaderboards.

Dunwall City Trials launches on December 11th via Xbox Live for 400 MSP.

Following the release of Dunwall City Trials, Dishonored will also see two story-driven campaign add-ons.

The first of these focuses on Daud, the leader of a group of assassins called The Whalers. That’s coming in early spring 2013.

The second story-based add-on is yet to be revealed.

Check out the screens for Dunwall City Trials below.

This kind of DLC is exactly the kind that Dishonored does NOT need.

I actually like time trials as they normally pose more of a challenge, though I found the ones on Prototype kind of stressful. Hopefully these are a challenge, but doable for the average gamer (or at least nearly)

Why?!? Just bought this game on Black Friday, and I wasn't expecting time trial DLC. Why do dumbass developers add stuff like this to a great single player story-based game? Why add DLC that has nothing to do with why people originally bought the game? It's like Moxxi's Underdome DLC for Borderlands, there was no reason for it because it had nothing to do with the original game. I was hoping for some story-based DLC, adding actual content to the game, not BS time trials or horde mode crap. Developers just don't have a clue anymore.

I've had the game since release and haven't gotten around to playing it yet but I know I'll skip this one and probably grab the story based content. Time-trials and challenge levels? No thanks.

@11, Developers just don't have a clue anymore? This is Bethesda! Of course they have a clue. It is reasonably priced, probably good gameplay on offer here. The story based DLC will come later, be patient. Which would you prefer, honestly. Great Story-Based DLC that takes a while, or Terrible Story-Based DLC that is just thrown together to make quick cash. I'd rather wait. Just because it's not for you, dosn't mean it's not for everyone. I personally probably won't like it but I will at least try it before complaining.

I'll get it. Sounds like protector trials from Bioshock and those were mildly amusing for few hours of gameplay and that's all I can ask for $5 anyway=)

@13 But why take a great story-based game and bring out cheesy "time trial" DLC for it? It's like adding a horde mode to Dead Island, which pissed me off. That game was 100% story and co-op fun then they added that arena crap. That is not knowing what fans want, because I guarantee most of us don't want this. We want story based stuff, and I'm willing to wait for it like in Skyrim. If it takes a year to bring out 2 great story based DLCs I'll wait it out, don't force this crap on people when 90% plus don't want it even tho some will buy it to try to have a complete game.

Meh, I may try this first DLC but more likely I'll wait until the 2 storyline related ones.

I think these might actually be fun.

I hate Time Trials that are ridiculously strict and rely on perfection (Mirror's Edge, lord have mercy), but I'm looking forward the "Kill this target without being seen" trials.

No. I hate challenge maps. Especially if there's a time limit as well.

If you hate challenge maps, sucks for you. But for $5, I get to stealth-kill MORE in this game? Oh, please, by all means, have my money.

Another game that wants to take the aspect people don't care about (AC3 mulyiplayer) and add DLC plus achievements for that aspect.

Another game that will not have a perfect score.

I'm not usually a fan of challenge/time trial dlc. I feel it cheapens the experience a bit. There was a reason why you were doing things in the game, there is no point to this.

On the other hand, it's cheap, and it might be fun for 5 mins.

On the plus side, 2x pieces of Story based DLC next year? Count me in 100%.
